Fancy taking your team somewhere better than a meeting room? ⛰️

MenTribe is now offering guided hikes for workplace teams in Eryri.

It could be a steady walk with time to chat, or a bigger mountain challenge you tackle together. We’ll plan the route around your group and lead the day, so you can get outside and enjoy it.

We’ve seen through MenTribe how much can change when people step away from the everyday and walk side by side. No forced team-building exercises. Just fresh air, good company and a day you’ll actually remember.

Got a team day coming up? Drop us a message and let’s plan something that works for your people.

Different people. Same mountains. 🌿

MenTribe Armed Forces Veterans | September Event

Great to see the veteran lads getting out and tackling the Nantlle Ridge on Sunday.

A proper day in the mountains - challenging terrain, some incredible views, plenty of laughs and, most importantly, good company.

Our Veterans events aren’t about sitting in a room talking about mental health. They’re about getting veterans back alongside other veterans, doing something familiar: getting outside, taking on a challenge and having a bit of craic along the way.

Sometimes that’s all that’s needed. No pressure to talk. No expectations. Just turn up, get involved and spend the day around people who get it.

Huge thanks to everyone who came along and made it another cracking day. 👊

And a massive thanks to Shaun Williams for leading this straight off the back of his ML assessment and only one day of rest 🤣 top man 👏🏻💚

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. The theme is changing the narrative on su***de. This is part of mine.

For years, I struggled with suicidal thoughts. There were times when I could not see how things would improve or believe that life would ever feel different.

But it did.

Slowly, the good days returned and life began moving forward again. That experience is a huge part of why MenTribe exists today.

We built MenTribe for men who feel conventional therapy is not working for them. Men who might simply need good people around them. People who will listen without judgement and remind them that they do not have to face everything alone.

Sometimes support looks like a walk, a kickabout, time outdoors or an honest conversation with someone who understands.

MenTribe was built from the experiences and support we wish we had when we needed it most.

If you are struggling, please know that your current situation is not permanent. Things can improve. Good days will return. I promise.

Please speak to someone and let them stand beside you.

If you are in immediate danger, call 999. You can also call Samaritans free at any time on 116 123.

What does MenTribe mean to the men who attend?

We asked this as part of our community survey. Their answers say more about MenTribe than we ever could.

A reason to get out of the house. People to speak to. Friendship, purpose and somewhere to belong.

Swipe through to read what MenTribe means to them.

If you’d like to get involved, send us a message.

Wondering how to get involved with MenTribe?

There’s something happening throughout the month, from weekly community walks and football to our monthly veterans and main MenTribe walks.

Most of our walk details are organised through the MenTribe Community WhatsApp groups, so you won’t always see every activity advertised publicly.

Our walks are free, relaxed and welcoming. You don’t need a referral, you don’t need to be struggling and you don’t need to know anybody beforehand.

Send us a message with where you’re based and what you’d like to join, and we’ll point you in the right direction 💚

*Please note that walk days and dates can occasionally change due to walk leaders’ availability.*

Introducing MenTribe Growth 🌱

A new six-week challenge built around one simple idea:

Choose something you want to change. Commit to it. And don’t do it alone.

Your challenge is yours.

Give up alcohol. Get fitter. Lose weight. Stop smoking. Sort your routine out. Read more. Get outside every day. Build your confidence. Finally start something you’ve been putting off.

Whatever it is, you choose it.

For our first ever cohort, we’re bringing together 10 men for six weeks. Every man will have his own challenge, but you’ll be doing it alongside a group who are there to keep each other accountable, celebrate the wins and pick each other up when things don’t go to plan.

This isn’t another group to join and silently watch from the sidelines.

You have to show up.

Not perfectly. Not without setbacks. But honestly, consistently and willing to support the other men doing the same.

COHORT 01
• 10 men
• 14 September – 25 October
• £40 for the full six weeks

Most MenTribe activities will continue to be completely free. Growth is different. It’s a small, structured programme, and the income it generates will also help us continue providing the free activities MenTribe already offers.

So here’s the question…

If you could change ONE thing about yourself over the next six weeks, what would it be?

Ready to do something about it?

Comment GROWTH below and we’ll send you the next step privately. 🌱

Challenge yourself. Support each other. Grow together.

I’ve had a few people ask why I’ve decided to do 12 months sober.

There wasn’t one massive rock-bottom moment. Alcohol hadn’t destroyed my life. I just started questioning what it was actually adding to it.

A good night would often mean a wasted morning, poor sleep, heightened anxiety, a crap training session and not being fully present for the people and things that matter to me.

I’ve spent long enough dealing with my own head without willingly doing something that makes it ten times worse the next day.

So I set myself a challenge: 12 months without alcohol.

Not because I’m saying I’ll never drink again, and definitely not because I think everyone else needs to stop. I simply want to see what I’m capable of when alcohol isn’t taking away my time, energy or focus.

There’s another reason I wanted to share this through MenTribe.

A lot of the messages we receive from men who are struggling arrive late on Friday and Saturday nights. We would never assume what’s behind any individual message, but alcohol can lower our inhibitions and make difficult thoughts and emotions feel even heavier.

Sometimes we drink to escape what’s happening in our heads, only to wake up feeling worse.

This isn’t a lecture. It’s just an invitation to be honest with yourself:

What is alcohol genuinely adding to your life, and what might it be taking away?

You don’t need to hit rock bottom before choosing to make a change. Your challenge doesn’t need to be 12 months, either. It could be 30 days, cutting back or simply becoming more aware of why you’re drinking.

Mine is 12 months.

I’m nervous about putting this out there, but if sharing it encourages one other man to think about his own relationship with alcohol, then it’s worth it.

Because this is exactly what MenTribe encourages: honesty, personal challenge and making a change before reaching crisis point.

We’re not clinical therapists, and we’ll never claim to be.

But we know that getting outdoors works. Walking side by side takes the pressure off, conversations happen naturally and men realise they’re not carrying everything alone.

Fresh air, movement, laughter and good people around you.

Sometimes, this really is the best therapy.
