A fantastic morning visiting .house headquarters to chat about the row and see exactly where all the money we are raising is going.
They have a great set up for therapists and those in need of help and work tirelessly to help people as well as running their 24/7 hour help line, all while relying heavily on public donations.
So far we have raised ยฃ6,600 for .house and we hope we can continue to make an impact, our go fund me is still open if you'd like to support.
Thank you ๐

We can't believe this crazy journey is coming to an end.. 32 days later. After 80 hours of non-stop rowing from Mayo we are now in touching distance of the finish line.
Come along to see us row in and officially finish, and then we can have some pints or 100 after.

From Endurance - Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing
"The truth was that he felt rather out of his element. He had proved himself on land.ย
He had demonstrated there beyond all doubt his ability to pit his matchless tenacity against the elementsโand win. But the sea is a different sort of enemy.ย
Unlike the land, where courage and the simple will to endure can often see a man through, the struggle against the sea is an act of physical combat, and there is no escape.
It is a battle against a tireless enemy in which man never actually wins; the most that he can hope for is not to be defeated."
We have continued to draw Inspiration and motivation from this book, truly one of if not the greatest tale of adventure and survival.

It was a big 32 hours for the team with some heavy rowing. We pushed for 62 nautical miles into headwinds and a seemingly continual foul tide. We arrived to our anchorage at 6am with sore bodies and sleep deprived.
Finally we have broken from the captivity of the Aran Islands where the wind was determined to keep us.
We are now ready to smash out the last push to the north coast but first must anchor for a couple days until northernly winds pass.
For now we will be visible from Keem bay, to some as just a small white dot! (Can you spot us?) Hoping to see some nice wildlife here ๐ค๐ฌ๐ฆ

We have rowed 127 nautical miles in the last 50 hours. Safe to say we are fairly busted, on anchor now for a day until winds settle. Time to rest.
Had this lovely pic sent to us from a passer by yesterday, back when water was calm and sun was shining. Today felt like we were on a different planet, thick fog and massive swells, the most difficult rowing we've faced yet.
We are now over half way and about to face the hardest parts of our expedition.
We are rowing to raise money for and .house if youd like to support our charities the link to do so is on our page.

Post training - Patiently waiting for the wind forecast to update and smiling through the pain
22/05/2024
As we continue to wait in this groundhog day/ purgatory-like state for the winds to turn in our favour, it gives us time to reflect on and appreciate the last week as we ramped up in anticipation to depart.
From darkness into light, to taking the boat out for final preparations, to our leaving drinks, to some sea dipping, some more delays and the final stickers on the boat. It's been a busy few days.
Big thanks to everyone who got involved in our leaving drinks, what a night that was.
Our job now is to take each day as it comes, stay focused and keep our bodies and minds sharp and ready to go. Co fictions continue to look unfavourable for this weekend coming, but we will keep you posted as soon as we have an update.
