Ahead of the Benidorm World Cup I knew my instructor from my time in Scotland, Montrose and where I earned my 1st Degree, Master David McNairn 8th Degree would be at the event working as an umpire and I'm so pleased we managed to have a few minutes together on a couple of days.
He's known Nicky and me for 30 years and is always so welcoming, friendly and kind to us.

Banstead TKD, as part of Team Taekwondo Impact , took part in the 2026 ITF Taekwon-Do World Cup hosted in Benidorm. Competitors were: Edie Davis .e08 , supporters were: Nicky Davis Paul .tkd and I was an Impact Coach.
🏖️
The hotel was close to the beach and therefore close to ALL the nightlife ALL at once ALL of the time. It's safe to say we had a good week of socialising hard, practicing hard and competing hard. For me, it's a week at work with no stress of actual competing but all the stress for all the competitors and my job was to focus the competitors, get them to practice, get them to compete at their highest level, get them to help each other and all of team Impact and to have a good week away.
🇪🇸🥳🍻
We went as participants and we participated well, and I'm super proud of Edie, Hollie and Darcey for their desire to compete at the highest club level and for representing Banstead TKD in the world . I'm proud of our supporters for being the best supporter gang any team could hope for.
👊🏼
I met up with several people I haven't seen in a while and I'll make another post about that.
🥋
In the meantime, well done to Banstead and Team Impact. On to the next one?
