🏅 Inspiring Medal Monday - what a weekend for LRC athletes.
We are so incredibly proud of these three.
Huw - Comrades Marathon, South Africa 🇿🇦
The world's largest and oldest ultramarathon, the 99th edition of this iconic race and Huw was on that start line living out a lifelong dream. 54miles from Durban to Pietermaritzburg on the brutal Up Run, with over 1,800m of elevation gain through the South African hills. Huw crossed that finish line in an incredible 9 hours 37 minutes. We are so, so proud.
David - The Wall Ultra, Rat Race 🏴
70 miles from Carlisle Castle through historic Hadrian's Wall country, finishing at Baltic Quay in Gateshead with approximately 3,460 feet of elevation, David finished in a time of 16hr 12. David is a dad of two who has juggled family life with ultra training the LRC way. He trusted the plan, stayed consistent and got it done. Amazing run David.
Kay - Cleveland Way Trail Relay
Kay and her team took on the stunning Cleveland Way as a relay ahead of her triathlon season, a fun, joyful day out on the trails doing what she loves. This is exactly the kind of active adventure we love to see. Brilliant day Kay!
What a remarkable weekend.
Enjoy your recovery. You've absolutely earned it.
Do you want to achieve something that feels impossible right now? That's exactly where all three of these athletes started.

June’s word of the month is RETURN
Not to who you were before life got busy.
Not to a previous version of yourself.
But to the habits, places and people that help you feel like you again.
A trail run.
A good book.
Music.
Fresh air.
A morning coffee outside.
Moving your body.
Laughing with friends.
Sometimes the things we need most aren’t new.
They’re the things we’ve drifted away from.
What are you returning to this month??

LRC Medal Monday
Huge congratulations to Angela, Nicola (with her pups Shep & Ollie) and David who all raced this glorious weekend.
Angela raced the Cape Town Marathon on Sunday (in 89% humidity 🥵), overcoming full body cramps that started at mile 19. To help her keep moving and cross that finish line, Angela recalled one of her long runs in Hawaii when a similar situation arose: “I remembered how I worked through it then - breathe, stay calm, don’t panic, keep talking positively to yourself, trust your training.” This all paid off as she finished her 63rd marathon in 4:46 (only 34 days after finishing the Boston marathon), noting that is often not the fastest times that are the most memorable or meaningful - "absolutely one of my proudest finishes on this stunning course filled with beautiful people, rolling hills, ocean views, and unforgettable moments along the way.” Way to go Angela 🤗🥰🙌
In the UK Nicola took part in the Whinlatter 10km with her very well trained dogs Shep & Ollie and David took ran the Northallerton 10km as part of a bigger training day ahead of his ultra marathon next month.
Well done everyone - enjoy your recovery
