⚽🏆⚽ A day to remember ⚽🏆⚽

Wow oh wow what a day these boys have just had, as they took part in Momentous Football Academy fabulous play like a pro tournament at Barnsley Football Club very own Oakwell stadium today.

An experience to last a lifetime, and the lads did us proud against some very strong teams and in the shadow of the Ponty End where many have sat cheering on the mighty reds.

To cap it off, they brought home the challenge cup and celebrated like only they can on the pitch in front of their proud families.

Keep these memories alive boys, you deserve every minute.

⚽⚽⚽ Midweek goal fest 🎉⚽⚽⚽

Wednesday evening saw an opportunity to reunite with our friends from Worsbrough Bridge AFC U11 25/26 following our years of friendly rivalry in the Barnsley league. Classic April weather, with four seasons in one evening, but it was worth it for the entertainment which followed.

Birdwell Rovers JFC Under 11s took the downhill advantage in the first half though exploited this to the full, playing some of their best football of the year, looking dangerous with every attack and rattling in goal after goal before the break which left supporters and coaches alike in stunned admiration.

As expected, the Briggers fought back in the second half, scoring some quality goals of their own to keep the game honest. However some clinical finishing on the break meant Birdwell kept a comfortable lead and a real morale boost before this weekend's must-win last 16 cup match against 7 Hills.

MoTM went deservedly to the whole team, well done boys, more of the same this weekend please!

⚽⚽⚽More late drama as league action returns! ⚽⚽⚽

Another home fixture on Sunday as we hosted Westfield Rangers in a Sheffield & District Junior Sunday League clash.

A great game between two well matched teams unfolded, with some super football and good honest competitive play on both sides. Heading into the break it was the visitors who took a 1-0 lead but the drama was still to come!

Despite chances at both ends it was Westfield who surged into a 3-1 lead and despite Birdwell Rovers JFC Under 11s pulling one back it looked like that's how it would stay until a last minute (second!) corner saw everyone, keeper included, flood the visitors box. As the ball sailed over multiple heads it was left to Travis to volley in an equaliser to share the spoils.

Exactly what grassroots football is all about with two fab teams and supporters.

MoTMs this week went to Thomas and Freddie 👏🏆👏 well done lads 😀🥇

Shout-out to Nancie on her aspiring refereeing journey, with her league debut well received and appreciated by all.

We return to cup action this Sunday with a home tie against 7 Hills 🏆🏆🏆

Throwback to 2 years ago today and a fantastic day for the boys.....

⚽💥⚽Friday night friendly ⚽💥⚽

Friday night saw an opportunity to lock horns with our old friends from Elsecar Main FC as we hosted a friendly on the Rec before our next league game on Sunday.

A highly competitive game with some great attacking play from both sides saw the game stay at 0-0 for most of the first half due to some close efforts and good goalkeeping from both teams. Birdwell however made the breakthrough before the break.

A similar story in the second half with both teams feeling like they could and should have taken a number of chances but in the end two late goals from the home team and a late consolation from Elsecar gave us the result.

Lots of great performances tonight but with a hattrick and back to his goalscoring ways Vinnie took home the parents' MoTM, whilst our referee chose Jenson as her MoTM.

Big shout out to Nancie making her debut as referee tonight. Did amazing and showed great decision making and a calm head. Well done!

⚽💥⚽💥 Late drama on the Rec ⚽💥⚽💥

A home game for the boys on Sunday as they looked to get back on track after a couple of narrow defeats, as they took on Swinton Athletic Spartans in their latest Sheffield & District Junior Sunday League fixture.

Despite a bright start, playing some positive attacking football, the boys struggled to make the breakthrough in the first half, before paying the price and heading into the break a goal behind. An early equaliser settled the nerves and we piled on the pressure searching for a winner. However history looked to have repeated itself as we fell behind to a breakaway goal and it seemed another strong performance would again end with no reward. However eventually the relentless pressure paid off, and how! With two goals in as many minutes the boys secured a dramatic late win and a boost to their season heading into Spring!

Lots of worthy contenders for MoTM this week however the awards this week went to
