6 months ago I’d have spent my Sundays sat on the settee, still in my pj’s, waiting until it was an acceptable time to crack open a bottle of wine
I used to think the only way to spend my 1 day off a week was to sit on my arse and feel sorry for myself
I don’t have a busy social life and I spend the majority of my time working but there are far better ways to spend your day than drinking empty calories, followed by eating the contents of the fridge
My house is clean, my cars had a wash, we’ve done our Sunday Starbucks run and Archie’s happy he gets his weekend walks again 🐾
I won’t lie and say I feel amazing, because my hormones and brain are kicking my arse at the minute
And I’m not pledging to never drink again because that’s not going to happen
But almost 2 stone down in 3 months and 3 weeks alcohol free, I feel a hell of a lot better than I did 6 months ago that’s for sure
The only way to help yourself is to change your habits
But nobody else is going to do that for you 🤷🏻♀️

⭐️ MEMBERS OF THE MONTH - AUGUST/SEPTEMBER ⭐️
Donna - just about hit the 12 month mark with us and the difference in that time is unbelievable
So much more confidence and an amazing increase in strength and fitness 💜
Mel - this lass is an absolute machine. Her work ethic is something else and even puts in extra sessions when she can fit them in 💪🏼
Both more than deserve to be recognised for the work they put in 👏🏼
Well done ladies 🫶🏼

This hit me this morning and made me a little emotional
When I look back at who I was all those years ago and how desperate I was to be who I am now
Take note how you talk to yourself and the language you use
Sometimes the person hurting you the most is yourself 🫶🏼

STOP SCROLLING ✋
This is for those of you constantly struggling to lose weight, constantly looking for the next diet and who give up after a few weeks
Now this isn’t my first fat loss journey, as far as experience goes, I’m a fckn expert
But that doesn’t mean it’s easy for me, I just know how it works and what to expect
Over the past 13 weeks I’ve had
👉🏼 3 weeks of scale increase
👉🏼 2 weeks of scale maintenance
👉🏼 8 weeks of scale loss
Here’s what I’ve had going on through those 13 weeks
👉🏼 A week of 💩🤢
👉🏼 3 social occasions
👉🏼 A week in Turkey 🇹🇷
Plus the affects of Peri-Menopause
Most people give up after a gain and a maintain
Just because the scale has gone up, it doesn’t mean what you’re doing isn’t working
The increase on the scale is usually down to water
If the scale increases by 3lb,
YOU HAVEN’T GAINED 3LB OF FAT!
You could get on the scale 5 hours later and be down 3lb
So unless you’re chugging the wine back like it’s pop most nights (previously guilty 🙋🏻♀️)
You’re a weekly regular at the Bottomless Brunch in town
Or your bast mate is the local Deliveroo driver
Stop stressing and go with the process
🙌🏼 Eat your protein
🙌🏼 Lift your weights
🙌🏼 Drink your water
🙌🏼 Plenty of sleep
🙌🏼 Get your steps in
The results will come

At what age were you when you started getting out of bed on a morning and your body just felt different?
You couldn’t move as easily
The stairs felt like you were climbing a mountain
You felt a tension in your lower back that you just knew, if it hadn’t already, was going to put you on your arse for at least a week 🍑
There’s many reasons why this can happen as we get older
The more popular reasons given when I’ve spoken to members is simply down to posture
Working a sit down job
Slouching while watching TV etc
Which ironically… I’m doing now (I’ll sit up shall I 🙄)
And this will only get worse as we get older
But… there is one thing you can do, if done properly, to help stop or prevent this from getting any worse
Lift weights and get strong 💪🏼
10-20 years time, you’ll thank yourself and wish you’d started sooner

Almost every women who has walked though our doors has said this to me in their first session
“I have no upper body strength, I’m so weak”
It’s a fear that holds people back from getting started
A fear that everyone else will be stronger than you
Yes, this maybe true
But this is simply because they’ve been training longer and have built up strength over time
They started as a beginner too
You don’t jump behind the wheel of a car and become an expert driver on the first day
It takes time and practice
If you change the way you talk to yourself about your goals and how you’re going to achieve them
You’ll soon realise that it isn’t impossible
Don’t focus on what you can’t do
Focus on what you can do!
Find your starting point and progress from there
It might not be easy, but I can promise you, it will be worth it

I can’t quite believe we’re in the last quarter of 2023 😳
The nights are drawing in and the leaves are falling 🍂
I tend to start feeling pretty low at this time of year, so I’ve put a few things in place to help me get through it as best I can
🎃 I’m going sober for October, maybe longer!
🎃 Supplement with Vitamin D3 to help with SAD (Seasonal affective disorder)
🎃 Upping my water intake as I’ve let this slip recently
🎃 Planning my workouts into my day instead of winging it, and making sure I get them done 💪🏼
🎃 Planned walks and time with my puppy 🐶
🎃 Arrange to see family and friends instead of isolating myself like I usually do
I plan to get through this winter better than I’ve ever done previously and give myself a head start on 2024
Who’s joining me?
