Great to see so many new members at the green today for our final Sunday Social of the season. A huge thank you to everyone who has given their time to make these events such a success and helped our new bowlers feel welcome.

We’ll be opening the green again in the New Year and look forward to welcoming more new members who would like to give crown green bowling a try.

🏆 PROMOTION IN THURSDAY SINGLES LEAGUE TO 'A' DIVISION 🏆

What a season it has been for Darfield Park Bowling Club! We have secured promotion in two leagues and reached two cup finals — the Friday Vets Cup and the Monday Doubles Cup.

We beat Windmill in the Friday Vets Cup final, while narrowly losing the Monday Doubles final to Dearne Sports by just nine points. Well played to both teams.

It has been a difficult season, with several players out of action at different times. However, the team pulled together, battled through and held on to the vital points needed to secure promotion.

Last night, in our final Thursday Singles game against fellow promotion chasers Carlton, we were delighted to take seven points — enough to keep us in the top two promotion places to the A Division.

Towards the end of the season, the team relied heavily on our newer members, some of whom have only been playing for one season. They stepped up brilliantly and played a huge part in this achievement.

A massive thank you to every player for your commitment, effort and team spirit throughout the season. This success belongs to all of you — well done, everyone!

And thank you to everyone who came to watch our home games, and supported the club throughout the season. Your support has been hugely appreciated. Thanks also to our kit sponsor Smart Door Solutions Ltd who keeps us looking smart through the season. 👍

Here’s to next season! 🎉🏆

DARFIELD PARK BOWLING CLUB – MID-SEASON ROUND-UP

It's been an exciting season so far at Darfield Park Bowling Club, with all of our teams competing well across the Barnsley and Hemsworth leagues. We're incredibly proud of every player who has represented the club, whether they're experienced bowlers or playing league bowls for the very first time.

Here's how we're shaping up halfway through the season:

🏆 Monday Doubles Team
Our Monday Doubles Team continues to enjoy another competitive season and is firmly in the promotion race. Sitting third in Division B, the team has produced some excellent performances and is well placed to challenge for the top spots during the second half of the campaign.

🏆 Tuesday Veterans Doubles Team
Our Tuesday Veterans Doubles Team has faced some tough opposition in Division A this season but continues to compete with determination every week. The squad's experience and commitment remain a credit to the club as they look to finish the season strongly.

🥇 Thursday Singles Team
Our Thursday Singles Team has enjoyed an outstanding first half of the season and currently leads Division B. Strong performances across the squad have put the club in a fantastic position as we continue our push for league honours and promotion.

🥇 Friday Veterans Singles Team
Our Friday Veterans Singles Team. Remain unbeaten after nine league matches, the team has built a healthy lead at the top of Division B as we continue our push for league honours and promotion.

🏆 Hemsworth League Team – This is our first ever season entering the Hemsworth League. The team was created to give new and emerging bowlers valuable competitive experience and is already proving to be an important stepping stone for the future of the club.

🏆 Monday Doubles Cup
Our Monday Doubles Team has also enjoyed an excellent cup run this season, progressing to the last four of the competition. A semi-final against Dodworth now awaits, with a place in the final at stake and the opportunity to compete for silverware.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of our team captains, who give up their time every week to organise players, support the teams and represent the club.

👏 Patrick – Monday Doubles
👏 John – Tuesday Veterans Doubles
👏 Eric – Thursday Singles
👏 Fred – Friday Veterans Singles
👏 Paul – Hemsworth League

A huge thank you also goes to every player, supporter and volunteer who continues to make Darfield Park Bowling Club such a fantastic club to be part of.

If you've ever thought about giving crown green bowls a try, why not come along? Whether you're looking to play socially or competitively, you'll receive a warm welcome.

Here's to a successful second half of the season. Come on Darfield! 💚
