DARFIELD PARK BOWLING CLUB – MID-SEASON ROUND-UP

It's been an exciting season so far at Darfield Park Bowling Club, with all of our teams competing well across the Barnsley and Hemsworth leagues. We're incredibly proud of every player who has represented the club, whether they're experienced bowlers or playing league bowls for the very first time.

Here's how we're shaping up halfway through the season:

🏆 Monday Doubles Team
Our Monday Doubles Team continues to enjoy another competitive season and is firmly in the promotion race. Sitting third in Division B, the team has produced some excellent performances and is well placed to challenge for the top spots during the second half of the campaign.

🏆 Tuesday Veterans Doubles Team
Our Tuesday Veterans Doubles Team has faced some tough opposition in Division A this season but continues to compete with determination every week. The squad's experience and commitment remain a credit to the club as they look to finish the season strongly.

🥇 Thursday Singles Team
Our Thursday Singles Team has enjoyed an outstanding first half of the season and currently leads Division B. Strong performances across the squad have put the club in a fantastic position as we continue our push for league honours and promotion.

🥇 Friday Veterans Singles Team
Our Friday Veterans Singles Team. Remain unbeaten after nine league matches, the team has built a healthy lead at the top of Division B as we continue our push for league honours and promotion.

🏆 Hemsworth League Team – This is our first ever season entering the Hemsworth League. The team was created to give new and emerging bowlers valuable competitive experience and is already proving to be an important stepping stone for the future of the club.

🏆 Monday Doubles Cup
Our Monday Doubles Team has also enjoyed an excellent cup run this season, progressing to the last four of the competition. A semi-final against Dodworth now awaits, with a place in the final at stake and the opportunity to compete for silverware.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of our team captains, who give up their time every week to organise players, support the teams and represent the club.

🎉 Happy 90th Birthday, Bill! 🎉

On behalf of everyone at Darfield Bowling Club, we'd like to wish Bill Ball a very happy 90th birthday today!

Bill is a much loved player at our club, and it was fantastic to see him out on the green this afternoon, playing in our Friday Vets match against Darton A. Which Darfield went on to win! A wonderful way to celebrate such a special milestone.

A big thank you also goes to Jane and Glenda for organising Bill's birthday party at the bowling club. It was a fantastic afternoon, and a great time was had by everyone.
