As my wee boy is now 23 and I expect his basketball journey has drawn to a close after playing U12, U16, AoC, U18, EABL D3 BUCS and recently D2 for Sheffield. I hope all of your Barnsley youngsters get as much as he has from Coach Bert's expertise.

This was the start of a huge journey for George Hartshorne Joe Hatfield, Div Mukendi and Reece Smith, all former Leaders players. George was given a sports person of the year award from Horizon, followed by 7 GCSE's and 2 A Levels and now he's received his Degree notification today, which is awesome for a lad who signed up with the Army to avoid GCSE's in 2018. He just needed a reason, which was to play with Sheffield Elite Basketball Academy. and getting a couple of A Levels with them. He's ended his education with a 2:2 Degree in Sports Science with Coaching from Newcastle Northumbria University. My point, all you need is a reason to do well and school like George and other former Leaders players.. and that reason could well be Basketball.. Barnsley college has an awesome Basketball Coach as well as Sheffield. 🙂 All you need is a reason. While at Uni George was playing NBL D3 and local league, as well as BUCS premiership for his University while coaching the 2nd and 3rd teams.. keeping him fit and focussed

This was one of those games, when the Leaders' played together as one unit, all know where they all where. and helping each other, faultlessly, they lost, but weren't beaten. it was 66 all at the end of the 4th quarter. but they'd given their all and had nothing left for the extra quarter. but it didn't matter, they'd proved to themselves that they were good..
