🏆 HOLKER WARRIORS — CUP FIRST ROUND 🏆

On a sunny but blustery Saturday morning, Holker Warriors welcomed Barrow Island U13s to Rakesmoor Lane for the first round of the cup.

The Warriors started positively and played some fantastic football in the first half. They moved the ball exceptionally well, creating chance after chance, but just couldn’t find that finishing touch.
That finally changed after a quick move through the middle fell to Bobby on his right foot outside the box. Just like last week, he made no mistake, drilling a fantastic strike into the bottom corner.

1–0 Warriors! ⚽

However, a bit of dilly-dallying at the back allowed Barrow Island through one-on-one, and they took their chance to make it 1–1 going into the break.

The second half followed much the same pattern, with the Warriors dominating possession, moving the ball beautifully and creating plenty of chances. Eventually, Isaac picked the ball up outside the box and whipped a brilliant finish into the bottom corner.
2–1 Warriors! ⚽

Barrow Island weren't finished, though. With the wind behind them, they unleashed an absolute rocket from outside the box straight into the top bin — one that no goalkeeper was getting anywhere near.
2–2.

But what impressed me most was the Warriors' response. Heads never dropped. We carried on playing our football, kept dominating and kept pushing for the winner.

Then came Mason, who had come on from the bench. He broke free and calmly slotted home to put us back in front.
3–2 Warriors! ⚽

And we weren't done there. Little T collected the ball inside his own half, beat two players and then played an absolutely superb ball through to Mason, who finished brilliantly for his second of the game.
4–2 Warriors — game done and into the next round! 🏆💪

⭐ PLAYER OF THE MATCH — BOBBY ⭐
Bobby was fantastic today. He never gave an inch, worked his socks off from start to finish and topped his performance off with another cracking goal. He's playing some fantastic football this season and deserves massive credit for the way he's performing.

🦌 HOLKER STAGS U8s — AUTUMN CUP 🦌
On a sunny Saturday morning, Holker Stags U8s travelled to Dalton for their Autumn Cup group games — and what a performance from the boys!
The Stags were absolutely fantastic throughout, finishing the group with a brilliant three wins from three games! 👏⚽🔥

The progression these boys are showing is incredible. The way they move the ball, work for each other and battle as a team is becoming a real joy to watch. From the goalkeeper and defence, through the midfield and all the way up front, every single player played their part.
As a coach, I couldn't be prouder of how they performed. Three games, three wins and, most importantly, some brilliant team football.

There wasn't one player who stood out above the rest because they were absolutely brilliant as a team from start to finish. They fought for each other, worked for each other and showed exactly what being part of a team is all about.

U9s STAGS 🟢⚪️ 🦌

Autumn Cup 🏆

The Stags welcomed Dalton, Swarthmoor and Walney for the group stages

There were some excellent games and plenty of skills on show, especially from our Stags !

Every single player gave their all on the pitch and can all be super proud of themselves 👏

Harry was a machine again ! Up and down the pitch playing clever passes and adding 2 goals for the day, 1 goal being the deciding moment in the first game👊

George M made a cracking save right at the end of the first game to ensure the win and to get us off to a brilliant start 🤩

Charlie played in a deeper role for us today so we could use his vision and passing more effectively and he did a great job creating chances throughout the games 🧙‍♂️

George W continued his fine goalscoring form and notched another couple to his tally ⚽⚽

Freddie, Arthur and Thomas worked so hard for the team, their commitment was really great to see and was a huge factor in why the team played so well today 👏

But... The NAILED DOWN ROOFING, player of the week goes too..

Carter !

By far his best performance on a football pitch, he was like a thunderbolt chasing down opposition players today. He even scored directly from a corner !

Holker Stags 36ers 🦌 🟢⚪️

🏆 Cup Report

🌞 The sun was shining up in the tropical paradise of Millom and the football was as glorious. Every game was tight and in truth we should have been leaving with 4 wins or at least 3 and a draw - sometimes you just need that little bit of luck.

Millom came out fighting with a goal in the first game that sadly took away a victory for us.

2nd game against Vickerstown, both teams were neck and neck but Vickerstown literally edged it, but that doesn’t take away from all our chances! 💪🏼

We were the dominate team in our penultimate game against Barrow Island but sadly couldn’t clinch the win

Everything came together in the final fame against Millom. 👏🏻 💥

Rauri pulled in a blinder in defence after he asked to play there in the last game, in the second game Jonas stood tall and was fantastic when called upon.

Dexy was winning the ball and passing, set up a number of goals and opportunities for his team mates, Oakleys silky skills and amazing dribbling were great to watch and Ralph working hard up and down the pitch getting into great positions where on another day he is coming away with a hat-trick. Seriously good performances all around today, top goalscorer with 5 was big Archie always a threat going forward, some great crosses and lightning runs.

TEDDY - he is improving week on week. The enthusiasm and drive that he is showing to improve, work hard and get stuck in is a fantastic example to all his team mates.

Ohhhh this season is looking strong 💪🏼

A solid effort from the first whistle, our hurricanes went in determined 👊🏼

We did some switch arounds with positions throughout this game which allowed them to gel more as a team and focus on passing through the opponent. It was such a pleasure to see all the boys rooting for each other 🤝🏼

The boys showed their development in making the right passing plays utilising quick passes instead of panicking. Everything clicked into place and they were finding the back of the net from just 3 plays!

Goals galore once more as a large percentage of the team added to their 26-27 season scoresheet!

He has come to this season so headstrong, determined and like a leader! His communication, encouragement and direction in the pitch is fantastic to witness 👏🏻

He’s been playing in a defence position more recently and he is solidifying that role so well. He bosses the defensive side of the game whilst pushing the play upfield. He knows when to make the drives and when to get it out. He kickstarts out attacks with the right play through short passes and long balls. Belting to see him find the back of the net again too!

⚽ HOLKER STAGS U8s – MATCH REPORT ⚽

On a rainy and blustery Saturday morning, Holker Stags U8s travelled up to Millom for their latest league fixture.

The Stags certainly took no prisoners today! 🔥 From the very first whistle, the boys were straight out of the blocks, scoring early and continuing to find the net throughout every quarter.

But it wasn't just the goals that impressed. The passing, movement and teamwork were absolutely fantastic. Every single player played their part, moving the ball exceptionally well and working for each other all over the pitch.

The progress these boys have made from last season to this one is unreal. They're developing into a very, very good footballing team, and today showed exactly how far they've come — lots of goals, great passing, brilliant movement and, most importantly, fantastic team play. 👏⚽

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH – COHEN 🏆

What a performance from Cohen today! He scored, created goals, tracked back, put his foot in when needed and worked tirelessly for the team. He was the ultimate team player from start to finish.

You've been fantastic since joining us, Cohen. Keep doing exactly what you're doing, mate — thoroughly deserved! 👏💚🖤

Another outstanding performance from our lads 💪🏼

The boys ran riot in the third quarter! Very little sideline coach was needed and they showed their development without a breath, constant passing and communicating across the pitch.

The boys are finding their rhythm with eachother more and more everyday and showing how they are gelling as a team who support eachother. It’s a pleasure to watch.

I think we might have seen the goal of the last 4 hurricanes seasons! The passing around our own corner flag between Toby and Raffe, eventually finding Oscar in the middle and for Oscar to switch it to Teddy on the left wing was outstanding - It was Nathan that put the ball in the net at the end of it but it was a proper team goal, playing some great stuff 👏👏

Goals galore with Teddy, Marshall, Lochlan, Oscar and Nathan clocking some more on their score sheets ⚽️ ⚽️ ⚽️

Shoutout to Oscar who had an unbelievable game and he sometimes goes without the praise he deserves as his dad is one of the coaches so it's a good opportunity to heap some praise on him, and judging by the way he has started the season he’s got a belter ahead of him! 💪🏼

🟢 💪🏼 HOLKER WARRIORS 5–2 MILLOM ⚽💚

💨 🌧️ On a rainy, windy and blustery September morning, Holker Warriors welcomed Millom to Rakemoor Lane for their second league fixture of the season.

The Warriors started brightly and quickly took control of the game, keeping possession, moving the ball well and creating plenty of chances. The only thing missing was the goal.

And as so often happens in football, Millom punished them.

Against the run of play, Millom broke quickly, caught the Warriors defence sleeping and managed to get through before calmly slotting the ball past Jude to make it 1–0.

Despite going behind, the Warriors remained firmly in the driving seat and continued to create chances. Then came a tactical change that completely changed the game.

Bobby moved into central midfield, with Mason pushing further forward, and the impact was almost immediate.

Bobby picked up the ball just outside the box and unleashed another thunderous strike to bring the Warriors level at 1–1. ⚽🔥

Barely a minute later, Bobby was involved again. This time he picked up possession and played a brilliant ball through to Theo, who kept his composure and slotted home to complete a fantastic turnaround.

2–1 Warriors at half-time.

The second half belonged to Holker. 🤝🏼

The Warriors dominated from start to finish, pressing Millom, moving the ball quickly and continually finding passes through to the forwards.

Eventually, the pressure told.

Theo added another two goals to complete a superb hat-trick ⚽⚽⚽, while Isaac capped off an outstanding individual performance with a fantastic strike from outside the box.

The final whistle confirmed an excellent 5–2 victory for the Warriors and another three league points after a dominant team performance.

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH — ISAAC

A fully deserved award after an outstanding midfield display.

Isaac controlled the game from the very first whistle. He dictated the play, won tackles to help out his defence and played some brilliant balls through to his teammates going forward.

To top it all off, he got himself on the scoresheet with a fantastic strike from outside the box.

A brilliant all-round midfield performance.

Holker v Swarthmoor Yellows

Fantastic team effort today in the howling wind at Holker. Despite the weather it was a great game to watch. Every player should be proud of their contribution as it was a real team effort. Goals came from Rauri, Little Oakley and Leo on the day.

Key performances were from little Oakley, who put in one of his best performances in a Holker shirt. He worked tirelessly, getting back to defend and pushing forward to support his teammates.

Leo’s finishing and dribbling were brilliant today, topped off with a fantastic free kick.

🏆 🌟 However, the Man of the Match award goes to Teddy Lee. He was quick into his challenges, strong and decisive when called upon, and his distribution has improved massively over the past few weeks.

Well Done Teddy, and well done to all the boys!

🟢 🦌 Holker Stags u9's visited the DASH at Dowdales school to play against Crooklands u8's

The game was end to end throughout, and there were moments of brilliant football between both teams 👏

The Stags focused on passing combinations at training and in the 3rd quarter it really clicked

George M made some great saves in goal and distributed well to start our attacks, Freddie made some strong tackles and also chipped in with another 'Freddie special' type of goal 🤫⚽

George W smashed in a thunderbolt of a half volley that found the roof of the net 🤩 an early goal of the season candidate

Simon showed his attacking edge and created 2 goals from brilliant crosses, 1 leading to Thomas's first goal for the club ! 👏👏

It was great to have Charlie back in action and he showed some brilliant ball control to beat his defender, as well as firing a curling effort into the corner of the goal ⚽

Overall, the coaches were delighted to see more improvements on the pitch, especially the reaction to losing the ball and for all of them looking for a pass when in attack !

🏆 The NAILED DOWN ROOFING player of the week... Harry !

Harry was a rock in defence and took what we did in training straight to the pitch, he dribbled into space and looked for passes to teammates and also had some cracking attempts at goal from distance 👏 he also made some top saves when in goal too 👊
