Violets Secure Late Thriller Against Lune Valley
In their biggest test of the season so far, the Violets showed incredible resilience and heart to pull off a dramatic late victory in an end-to-end clash against a highly organized Lune Valley side.

From the first whistle, Lune Valley proved to be a tough nut to crack, matching the Violets' energy and testing their resolve across every inch of the pitch. However, the bedrock of the Violets' performance came from the back. Tilly and Georgie were absolute giants in defense, putting in key tackles, reading the game brilliantly, and staying rock-solid under heavy pressure to keep the team grounded throughout the contest.

With the game hanging in the balance and the clock ticking down, the moment of magic arrived in the dying seconds. Maci stepped up to deliver a last-minute corner, whipping the ball in with perfection to find Daisy in turn found the back of the net and send the team and supporters into complete celebration.
A gritty, exciting, and well-earned victory that highlights both the tactical growth and the determination of this squad.

Barrow Island U13 - BDJFL KO Cup 🏆

What a performance from the Barrow Island U13s today in the cup! ❤️🖤⚽️

Coming up against a very tough Premier League side in Holker Old Boys, the lads really stepped up to another level and showed exactly what they’re capable of.

From the first whistle to the last, they fought for each other all over the pitch. Every tackle, every run, every challenge and every bit of effort was done as a team. When things got tough, nobody dropped their heads — they kept pushing, kept battling and never gave up.

For that reason, there was only one possible Player of the Match today…

👏 THE WHOLE TEAM! 👏

A massive well done to every single player. You should all be incredibly proud of the effort, togetherness and attitude you showed today.

🍂 U10 Autumn Cup Group Stage 🍂

What an incredible day for the Islanders! 🔴⚫️⚽️

Five games played today against some very well-established teams, and our kids stood up to the challenge and faced it together, as a team.

There was so much to be proud of — superb commitment, growing confidence, developing skills and, most importantly, smiles all round! 👏🏻❤️

A special congratulations to Kami and James, who both made their first appearances for the Islanders today. Both settled in brilliantly, played an important part in the games and did a fantastic job supporting their new teammates. Joining a new team is never easy, but both showed a brilliant attitude and embraced the experience.

Thank you to every single one of our players for believing in what the club is trying to achieve, and for believing in themselves. The progress we are seeing is fantastic, and continuing to attend training and gaining valuable match experience will undoubtedly make a huge difference as they continue to develop.

Of course, no individual achievement comes without the support of the whole team. The encouragement, teamwork and togetherness shown today was fantastic.

I genuinely could not be more proud of the passion, commitment and determination they all demonstrate every time they pull on the Islanders shirt.

🔴⚫ U7s vs Millom 🔴⚫

Our U7s were up bright and early this morning as they headed out to face Millom! ⚽️

The Islanders pulled out all the stops and played with every bit of determination they had. 💪🏻

⭐ The 3 Musketeers — Archie, Hunter & Jonah ⭐
These three were immense today! Their link-up play and tireless work rate resulted in plenty of goals, while they worked brilliantly together defensively too. 👏🏻

💪🏻 The Girls — Isobel, Ella & Olivia 💪🏻
The girls went out there and showed a very strong Millom side exactly what they're made of! They moved the ball down the wings, created space, linked up well and found the back of the net on multiple occasions. 🌟

A special mention also goes to Harry, who went out on loan to Millom this morning to help make the numbers work. He worked tirelessly and certainly showed the Islanders what he has up his sleeve! 👏🏻⚽️

🌟 PLAYER OF THE MATCH — OLIVIA 🌟

Week on week, we look at how much the players are improving, and Olivia is a perfect example of that.

Believe it or not, just 3 weeks ago Olivia played her first ever 3v3 game and refused to go back on. Today, there was absolutely no sign of that lack of confidence! She has built herself back up, got stuck in and was putting in some brilliant passes, setting up perfect balls to help Isobel and Ella get forward. 💪🏻💪🏻

What a turnaround in just a few weeks! ❤️🖤

Barrow Island Claim Back-to-Back Victories in the new seasons first 2 matches.

Barrow Island kept their momentum rolling with a fantastic performance against Vickerstown Reds, securing their second consecutive win!
The team put on a clinical display from start to finish, highlighted by sharp attacking play and excellent squad depth. A big shout-out goes to Gabs, Broughton, and Cohan, who all found the back of the net to put their names on the scoresheet.

Player of the Match honors went to Daniel, our newest signing, who delivered an outstanding performance on the pitch. Daniel has already proven to be a valuable addition to the squad, settling in seamlessly and making a massive impact when it mattered most.

🔴⚫ U12s vs Askam United ⚫🔴

Our U12s were at home to Askam today in the league, with both teams playing out a closely contested game. For the most part, the result really could have gone either way, with very little between the two sides.

The wind became a real factor as the game went on, and with a lack of substitutes available, it made for a tough second half for the Islanders. 💨

⚽ Both of our goals today came from Lukey, who worked hard throughout.

🏆 POTM – Abdul

Today’s Player of the Match goes to Abdul, whose defensive performance and sheer desire to win the ball were outstanding. He battled for absolutely everything and never gave up on a challenge.

The highlight was a last-ditch sliding tackle to win the ball from behind and prevent a real goalscoring opportunity. 💪🔥

Brilliant effort, Abdul — keep it up! 👏🔴⚫

🏆⚽ U15 BDJFL KO CUP – QUARTER-FINAL ⚽🏆

🔴 Dalton Junior U15 Reds vs Barrow Island Junior U15 ⚫️

What a fantastic team performance from the Islanders today! 💪👏 A deserved victory sees us safely through to the semi final of the BDJFL KO Cup! 🏆🔴⚫️

Manager Mark made a tactical change before kick-off, putting Ethan up front with the job of marking the Dalton striker and stopping them from playing out from the back. What was planned as a 15-minute experiment paid huge dividends! 🎯

Ethan’s work disrupted Dalton’s build-up and created space for George, Harvey and Taylor to attack. ⚡⚽

The Islanders took full advantage, with Harvey, George and Taylor all finding the net to give us a lead at half-time! 🔥👏

George was a relentless, running tirelessly in the channels and continually putting pressure on the defence. His energy and movement caused problems throughout the game, and he deservedly added a second goal in the second half! ⚽⚽💨

Ethan’s performance deserved a goal of its own, and he came agonisingly close late on, only to see his effort come back off the post! 😱🥅

At the other end, Elliot made some crucial stops in goal 🧤👏, while Kaleb, Arley, Terry, Benji and Joseph put in a brilliant defensive display. 🛡️💪

The defence made countless interceptions, tackles and blocks, stopping everything that was thrown at them. 👊🔒

Arley’s goalkicks were also a real weapon today, putting Dalton under pressure throughout the game and creating a number of chances. 🎯💥

In midfield, Reggie, Remy, Jakub, Coahan, Quinny, Taylor and Harvey all played their part, winning the ball, attacking, tracking back and working tirelessly to support the defence. Maybe Jakub should wear Freddies socks lucky socks more often 🫣 🔄💪🏻⚽️

A solid all-round team performance from everyone involved. Every player contributed, worked for each other and showed the determination and togetherness needed to progress in a cup competition. ❤️🤝

⭐🏆 MAN OF THE MATCH – ETHAN T 🏆⭐

A brilliant tactical performance from Ethan! 👏 His job was to disrupt and stop them playing out, and he carried it out superbly. 🎯💪 His performance was a huge part of the Islanders taking control of the game.

Arley was not far behind Ethan for the award, putting in an excellent performance at the back and causing Dalton plenty of problems with his passing 🎯👏

After a few months off over the summer holidays, it was fantastic to see the lads back out there today on a very blustery day at Hawcoat Park! 🌬️⚽
The team got straight back into the swing of things, putting in some fantastic defensive efforts which helped create opportunities at the other end — and they took those chances brilliantly! 👏🔥
