Well done, Barton Inclusive FC Weetabix Wildcats! 🌟

Today our brilliant BIFC Wildcats took to the main stage at Barton Carnival to host a fantastic football session and they absolutely smashed it! 👏

It was extra special to team up with Barton Town Women FC girls team, showing just how strong the pathway is for girls in our community. 💪

Many of the amazing Mini Swans started their journey with our Wildcats, so seeing both groups sharing the stage was a proud moment. 🐱🦢

Huge well done to everyone who took part, coached, cheered, and supported. 🙏🏼

You showed exactly what girls’ football is all about, confidence, teamwork, and FUN! ❤️⚽️

Last night, we celebrated an incredible season with our End of Season Presentation Night at Barton Town! And what a season it has been finishing 5th overall and reaching two semi-finals. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, it was amazing to see so many players, families, supporters, and volunteers all together. Your support means the world to us.

📸 Photo 1: A special moment as the women’s team presented a farewell gift to our former chairman, Mark Gregory. Marks grandchildren and regular supporters Oakley and Millie collected his award. Thank you, Mark, for everything you’ve done, especially for backing the launch of our women’s section two years ago. We’re forever grateful to have you as part of the Swans family.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we say goodbye (for now) to two incredibly special people Amy and Carl who are stepping down from their roles on the management team at Barton Town Women.

Amy has been there since day one. From the very first conversations about creating a women’s team two seasons ago, to recruiting players, planning sessions, and leading us into that very first match - a tough first game where 11 brave players left the pitch battered, bruised, and completely exhausted. But that game marked the beginning of something truly special.

With Carl joining shortly after, the team continued to grow in confidence, ability, and spirit. Together, they helped shape the foundations of a team that has gone from strength to strength and in our recent season, we proudly finished fifth in our division in just our second year of playing.

We are so proud of what they’ve both helped us achieve, and so thankful for the time, care, and belief they’ve given to this team. Their passion has left a lasting mark not just on the pitch, but in the hearts of every player who’s had the privilege of being coached by them.

We wish them both all the very, very best in whatever comes next and we fully respect their reasons for stepping down. There will always be a place for them here on the coaching team, in the dugout, or simply cheering from the sidelines. And always, in our Barton Town family.

Our thoughts are with Melvyn’s family and friends at this sad time. We’re especially thinking of our valued player and club captain, Caitlin Phillips. 🫶🏼💙🦢

Barton town fc are saddened to hear the passing of Mel (Melvyn) Allerton.
Mel played a big part in our football club when he was younger, which included playing football for a period of time.
We thank Mel for everything he did for Barton town old boys.
We send our thoughts and condolences to Mel's family including our current women's club captain Caitlyn.
If you wish to pay respects at his funeral, the details are 27th May 12 noon, st Mary's church, wearing a splash of yellow if possible.
