The official Basildon & Pitsea Cricket Club page. Originally called Basildon Cricket Club, we have been in existence since before the second world war.

During the time when all the young men were serving in the forces, the club fell into decline, and was reformed in 1948. Back in these times the club played at the Old Rectory in Cranes Farm Road, now the site of the New Holland Tractor Plant. It moved to Benfleet Recreation ground when the New Town began taking shape and moved back to Basildon in 1962. In 1968 The Basildon Cricket Club was formed

Golf Day – Friday!!!!! ⛳️🏌️ 🏏

For everyone playing on Friday at Basildon Golf Course, this is an all-day event. Please see the schedule below:

8:30am – Registration and breakfast (arrive from 8:30am)

9:32am – Honorary first tee shot

9:33am – First group tees off

4:15–4:30pm (approx.) – Last group finishes, followed by the presentation of awards and prizes

11:00pm – The golf course kicks us out! 🍻

Please remember there will be a mandatory sweepstake for everyone taking part. It’s £5 minimum per person, with all money going towards the prize fund and our new clubhouse project.

The drinks/beer cart will be making its way around the course throughout the day to keep everyone hydrated. A big thank you to Captain PMac for taking over cart duties again this year! 👍

Thank you to everyone who is playing. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic day for the club, and hopefully we’ll raise a great amount for both the prize fund and the clubhouse project.

If you’re not playing, please feel free to come down and join us. The first groups should be arriving back at the clubhouse from around 1:30pm onwards.

If you have any questions, just let me know.

See you all on Friday!

Regards,

Cub

Wins across the board for the 1s, 2s, 3s and 4s, while the 5s and 6s battled hard but fell short. Our Sunday XI sealed an 18‑run victory over Basildon Gully in the El Basico derby — a brilliant way to round off the weekend.

We go again this Saturday.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of West Indies cricket legend Sir Garfield Sobers.

Sir Garfield visited Basildon & Pitsea Cricket Club back in the summer of 2014 while representing the Barbados Cricket & Tourism Board.A moment our club will always cherish.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Sobers family.
