The Life of Lorcan

09/10/2026

Been a bit quiet on here as I've had the lurgy but I thought I'd share our gorgeous rosette and plaque from All-Steps Formation Riding - this is from when we competed in their October competition as part of the Hooves, Style, Rhythm' team (the team scored over 70%) The branded polos were epic too (and lasted all of 5 seconds).
The hairy Coblet had a haircut from Tony Fleming today so he's now back to being the streamlined sports mode - Thank you Tony for always doing such an epic job!
HSR Equestrian was the unfortunate soul who got the first ride on the hairless wonder, but I've been reliably informed that he was a superstar ⭐ Good Coblet 🥰

I'm hoping to have more to share over the next few weeks so watch this space :) x

A year ago today - thankfully we've both stopped being so dramatic when we're asked to do something we find difficult 🤣

We headed off to South Hill for Chelmsford & Districts last dressage of the year.
Sam very kindly let us join her & Galaxy in their trailer which Coblet thoroughly enjoyed.
He didn't warm up quite as well as I'd have liked and he felt a bit against my hand. I feel this may have transferred to our test but his transitions were sharp and we made it to the end without mishap 🤣

I'm thinking he may need his back doing more regularly now he's putting the work in but he may just have decided he didn't want to play ball today!

We left before the scores were done so I'm eagerly refreshing their Facebook and I'll update everyone when I know :)

Well done to Sam & Gally who were very fabulous! ⭐

P.s we are VERY sweaty and in need of a haircut 💈

Bit of practice of Prelim 1, ready for tomorrow.
He told me he couldn't keep his head up by the time we'd finished 🤣

Tomorrow is our last scheduled competition of 2026! We may do some over the winter but currently we have nothing in the diary, and that's ok!

12 years ago I took Lorcs 'big brother' for a ride through the cows on the hacking fields.
I'm not sure Coblet would appreciate this quite as much but Balou LOVED cows

Whilst I very much celebrated cantering with no stirrups, this morning, walking seems to be an impossible and foreign task 🤣🤣
Whilst I stagger round the house and bounce off the walls, I wanted to show you Coblets most AMAZING door sign by Equine QR. Not only does it feature the main man himself, it also has a QR code that anyone can scan to get emergency contact details and any important information about him. I can't rate their products highly enough - we've got their horse, rider and lorry/door tags so wherever we are and whatever the situation, somebody can identify us.
They also went above and beyond and very kindly attached magnets so I could put it on his door 💞

5 years ago today I went off to Kent to look at a little cob, firmly in the belief that he wouldn't be what I was looking for.

I've never been so happy about being wrong
