End Of An Era 🥹
After an 8 year spell in the famed Quins quarters, our own Sheree Cooper has announced her retirement from the professional game. Starting her rugby journey at Down Grange, her performances at club and county level saw the loose head progress to Harlequins development squad, before becoming a senior figure of their PWR squad.
Training week in, week out with some of the biggest names in world rugby along with serious commitment to her fitness off the pitch has seen Sheree transform as a player since last running out in blue and gold, with her journey a real inspiration to young players throughout the club. Over 50 appearances and a run out at HQ later, Basingstoke RFC would like to congratulate Sheree for her incredible career.
Beyond her success in the professional game, we are incredibly grateful for Sheree's continued contribution towards developing our club, in particular our Women's section. Our current Chair of Women's Playing, Sheree has gone above and beyond in so many aspects across the club - involved in coaching our Women's and Men's sections, managing our social media and our club website (and no doubt so much else), we're incredibly proud to have you as a Basingstoke RFC product!
All the best Sheree - here's hoping we see more of you around the club this year! 💙💛

What goes on tour, stays on tour! 👀
This weekend our U15s are taking on our Welsh counterparts in the inaugural Gower Clash in Swansea. This is their last tour before GCSEs next year, so as the only English team participating they're not only representing the club but the country.
All the best boys - smash it and enjoy yourselves! 👊

Beastly 26 - Over and Out 😍
Coaches and club members from our Girls section volunteered their time at Beastly this weekend! The largest Scout and Guiding Event in Hampshire, Beastly is a multi-day activity-based event to encourage young people from all over the region to get involved in sport (including Rugby!)
The team had a cracking time as they introduced prospective players to the basics of the game. A huge thank you to Abbie, Rhys, David, Aron, Roger and Fi who gave up their time for the club! 💙💛

We'd like to wish our age group players undertaking exams a HUGE good luck this exam season!
If you apply yourselves to your studies even half as well as you do on the rugby pitch, we've no doubt you'll get the grades you need.
Work hard, try your best and look after yourselves - we're all by your sides supporting you 🤗

And that's a wrap 😍
We held our Kids First Festival last weekend, but this weekend officially marked the end of season as we hosted our annual Colours Day! 🏅
We had a good old fashioned Basingstoke RFC water fight and a medal ceremony to celebrate the achievements of our U6s to U12s! In a season of real growth across the board, it was brilliant to see our youngest members smiles on their faces and enjoying themselves at the club.
A huge thank you to Warburton's and the team at their Basingstoke depot for their generous donation of buns to all children for the day, as well as the Basingstoke Fire Brigade for their additional water supply!
We hope you all have fantastic summers and we can't wait to see you back at the club next season 🤗

The Pride of Basingstoke 🤩
We were delighted to be able to celebrate our age group players during half time of the cup final on Friday night! 22 'Stoke players earned representative honours beyond appearing for the club during the season - be it at PDG level with Bath, county level with Berkshire and Hampshire and even some senior international honours!
Each of the players was presented with a shield and a certificate for their achievements, presented by Club Secretary Doug Goodwin and Chair of Marketing/Senior player Paddy Gilbert.
Beyond their achievements on the pitch, each of the players displayed proper rugby values - showing real gratitude to be invited the ceremony, as well as genuine pride to be part of our club. We can't wait to follow each of these players' rugby journeys - one thing for sure is that the future's bright in Blue and Gold 💙💛
