SPF The Somerset Powerlifting Federation

It’s been a good few years since we started organising competitions at Bath Leisure Centre in 2019, but with access to commercial gyms in order to hold meets proving increasingly challenging with Covid and some other factors, we are calling it a day on the SPF and closing this account down.

Thank you to anyone who’s lifted with us, any spotters and loaders that gave up their free time to help, as well as spectators. Since our first meet we have raised over £1000 for charity! Not bad for a bunch of meat heads.

Henry will be organising the odd strongman event with powerlifting elements at his campsite so keep an eye on that page if you ever want to do any outdoor strength events. We had a great turn out at Cluttons Strongest Man this year so let’s hope the same can be said for 2022!

A bit of bench press from this past June at the last SPF event where we mixed things up with a bit of strongman.

Events will be as follows (male/female weights)

We will go into more specific rules on the day itself but the basics are below. In order of completion. 30 points 1st place / 20 points 2nd place / 10 points 3rd place in each event. Highest total of points wins the competition.

Limit (you may re-rack the bar during this time limit and then continue)

Our first place trophies for SPF Thunder from the brilliant Fox Mouldings based in Yorkshire have arrived!

Thunder will be a strongman-powerlifting Hybrid event which will take place on the 27th June at 10 am.

First place finishers at SPF Thunder will receive the natural stone lifter trophy plus some supplements from .sportsnutrition and an SPF T-shirt!

Prizes for 2nd and 3rd place as well.

The competition will be in aid of everyone welcome, just £10 to enter all of which will go to charity.

We will have plenty of Cider and a BBQ for competitors and spectators.
