On Saturday 21st March, 16 players, from seasoned veterans to eager beginners (plus a few next-gen hopefuls!), battled it out for the Lansdown Squash Handicap crown.
A four-round Monrad-Swiss format delivered tight, competitive matches where every shot counted. After three rounds, only Gwill Lloyd and Brendan Pegrum remained unbeaten, setting up a dramatic final.
Starting at -7 vs +7 in a race to 15, Brendan took early control, but Gwill fought back with loud balcony support. It went right down to the wire at 14-14, with both players missing chances, until Brendan edged it 19-17 to take the title.
Brendan Pegrum is your Lansdown Squash Handicap Champion!
Special mention to Suzy Lawler, winner of the “Most Pluck” award (and now the proud owner of some Golden Balls…).
Thanks to everyone who took part!
