New Wednesday night beginners' class starting up on the 1st of April - no, it's not a joke!

It's nearly autumn, which means the Wednesday class is heading back to Hayesfield before it gets too dark in the evening (bye bats!) and we have a new beginners' session starting up. Any level of skill welcome, whether you're completely new, have done Tai Chi in any form before, or have been with us before and want a refresher.

We have classes on other days too in the area with other instructors, different foci and different ways of teaching, so even if the Wednesday class doesn't work for you get in touch (either DMs here or directly with the relevant instructor via the website) and we'll get you started off.

It's that time of the year again - David's class will be starting a new beginners' set, and we're starting to plan our annual migration to Henrietta Park for the summer.

The beginners' set is around six months and gives you a solid grounding in the Yang style short form plus Qi Gong.

Good weapons are instruments of fear; all creatures hate them.
Therefore followers of the Tao never use them.
The wise prefer the left.
Soldiers prefer the right.

Weapons are instruments of fear: they are not tools of the wise.
They use them only when there is no choice.
Peace and quiet are dear to their hearts, and victory no cause for rejoicing.
If you rejoice in victory, then you delight in killing.
If you delight in killing, you cannot fulfill yourself.

On happy occasions precedence is given to the left.
On sad occasions to the right.
In the army the general stands on the left, the commander-in-chief on the right.
That means war is conducted like a funeral.
When many people are killed, they should be mourned in heartfelt sorrow.
That is why victory must be observed like a funeral.

Throughout June, July and August, starting on June 5th, David Rutherford's Wednesday evening Tai Chi class will move from its usual venue at Hayesfield School and will instead take place in Henrietta Park, Bath, from 19:00 to 20:30, at a reduced cost of £10 per session.

This will obviously be weather-dependent, so keep an eye on the WhatsApp group - David will announce there if any sessions need to be cancelled due to weather. Otherwise, assume it's on!

So the last few months we've been running a Chi Gung class for members of Headway Bath District group. They are a charity that help people with Brain Injuries. The work they do is amazing and it's great to be able to offer this to people who really need it.
There's been some impressive results and it really warms my heart to pass this gift on
