We are an Aikido society based in the City of Bath in the South West of England dedicated to furthering the practice of Aikido in the area. While aiming to train alongside other Aikido groups in a way that promotes harmony we also seek to encourage the fullest development of individuals within the framework of Aikido. We seek to develop a style of Aikido free practice in order to develop new ideas

Our 6 week beginner course has come to a close and we're all feeling like proud parents as our cohort of new students receive their certificates and enjoy a well-earned congratulations. They all did very well throughout the course and we're looking forward to practising with them for many years to come.

This past weekend, some of our members took a trip over to Wells to take part in the second International Women's Day Seminar kindly hosted by Bjorn Säw of Aikido Alive and Fiona Blyth of Shin Kaze Aikido Alliance. It was a great weekend with many sessions taught by inspiring female Aikido teachers. Plus a nice chance to catch up with friends. Already looking forward to next year's seminar!

Some highlights from our recent friendship seminar between Bath Aikido Society, Bristol Seishinkan Aikido, and Fudoshin Aikido Cardiff this past January. It was a pleasure to host members from each club as well the gift of excellent instruction from their teachers.

We had the pleasure of training with Marta who visited us last Monday while on a visit to Bath from Hungary. It was a nice vigorous class and a great way to close out the year. Until 2026!

Last night we had the absolute pleasure of a class taught by Roxana Gramada sensei from Aikikai Romania. Gramada Sensei brought a wonderful, dynamic, and fun energy onto the tatami. Everyone left the dojo with the kind of smile you only get from a good workout! Thanks again to Gramada Sensei and to everyone who attended 🙏

Another wonderful weekend seminar with Stéphane Benedetti Shihan. Teasing out the secrets of Aikido from its basic movements is always a challenging but rewarding pursuit.
