Now with an established youth session Trowbridge is taking the step into a senior team. Entering the Flag tournament for the 2013-2014 season.
The first junior session for Trowbridge took place in 2003 in Paxcroft primary school, since then Bath LC has invested heaviliy into the new youth section in Trowbridge, the resuts are several 1st team players from the town. This event is in conjunction with the English Lacrosse National Lacrosse day (http://www.englishlacrosse.co.uk/…/2015-national-lacrosse-…/) , from 12 noon till the game starts, a rolling "drop in" mixed game will be running and a shooting area where one can see how hard and accurate your shot really is; bring friends, children - kit provided - all free of charge.

Trowbridge senior team travelled to Reading to take part in a summer tournament hosted by Reading University. It was the first venture out for the senior squad for a while so no one was quite sure what to expect, competition wise and our own cohesion. The target was set to just have a good time and take away what ever we could about ourselves from the experience. Trowbridge made the travel with the bare minimum of 8 players for the tournament; staying fresh for each game was going to be a challenge.
The tournament; it goes without saying was a major success for Trowbridge Lacrosse. We managed to get our selves through to the semi-finals and everyone had fought hard to get there. Defensively we were solid; Mark Lane (Goal), Luke Wilmot and Paul Bown (defence) played as one cohesive unit throughout the day. With great communication and positioning we were able to keep a clean sheet till the semi-finals. So 4 Clean sheets from Mark Lane, I believe that is 4 pints for each of us Mark!!
In midfield they had to work really hard, no subs for the day and fast paced game play is not something they were looking forward to. That being said they dug in and worked hard. Moving the ball up field and chasing back with 100% effort every time, which makes the defence and attacks work a lot easier as the support is there.
Attack put in there share for the team, switching into midfield to rest tired players and doing their best to retain the ball up top to get the game under control and set the pace. With good movement and passing gave a lot of goals to Trowbridge, scoring in every one of the 5 games played. Scoring from 1 on 1’s and well worked assisted goals; the attack put a good show for the spectators.
So a big thank you to all the lads who played hard and made an excellent day of it and to Reading University for putting on a good day!!
