🔴⚫ BIRSTALL VICTORIA U14s – CUMBRIA TOUR 🚌🏉

What a weekend away for the Vic U14s! ❤️🖤

Friday evening saw the lads, coaches and parents make the steady 3-hour journey up to Cumbria. Once we arrived, it was straight into pizza supper… followed by the lads absolutely running riot into the early hours! 😂🍕🌙

Saturday came around far too early getting breakfast sorted for the lads before a busy day ahead.

First up was Ghyll Scrambling — plenty of scrambling, jumping, submerging & wading through the Ghyll.

Then it was off for a walk around Keswick, taking in the sights before heading for some go-karting 🏎️💨.

Back to the house afterwards to settle down and watch the Leeds Rhinos, before a slightly more civilised night for the lads… although we’re not saying it was an early one! 😂

Sunday morning brought another early start. Breakfast was sorted, bags packed, the house cleaned and everything loaded up before heading off to Lowca for the main event — the big game! 🏉🔥

And what a way to finish off an incredible weekend…

After everything the lads had packed into the weekend, they could have been forgiven for being tired, but they turned up and put in a fantastic performance.

The Vic ran out 58–0 winners, producing a strong all-round display and keeping Lowca scoreless.

From the long journey, late nights, Ghyll scrambling, Keswick, go-karting and watching the Rhinos, to getting out on the field on Sunday and putting in a performance like that, the lads have made some brilliant memories together.

A massive well done to every single player. The effort, attitude and togetherness throughout the whole weekend was fantastic.

A huge thank you to all the coaches, parents and everyone who helped organise and make the tour happen. ❤️🖤

What a brilliant first game back after the summer break for U9s! 🏉🙌

Both teams played amazingly and it was such a great game to be part of. Always extra special playing against a local team who we’ve built such a great friendship with over time. 🖤❤️🖤❤️

❤️🖤 For any kids who haven’t been selected for a scholarship program and feeling a bit disheartened…. Please don’t!!! Just keep working hard, keep playing and just keep enjoying rugby…. that is the most important part. Our under 18’s player Max did exactly that, never picked up at scholarship but got a chance for a trial just before academy…. This week he walked away with 3 awards from Castleford Tigers Academy - forward of the year, players player of the year and player of the year. Work hard and your time will come … it might not be this year, it might not even be next year but play because you love it and your time will come 🖤❤️ Well done Max on your awards.

As we head into the final weeks of the summer holiday and the back end of the season is restarting, we are thinking ahead for the next year's 2027 first competetive season as an U12s..

We are on the look out for new/old players who want to come back or start playing a great sport..
