Harrold Cricket Club had the pleasure to host its fourth annual six-a-side competion on Saturday, a great chance for young and old of club to come together, enjoy the sunshine and a few cold ones along with it 🍺

Six teams competed, with the final coming seeing bitter rivals BMS and Bedford School duke it out 👊

BMS came out on top this time, but more importantly, everyone involved enjoyed a cracking day, made even better by PSG that evening 👏

🏏 So close, but yet so far…👏

Harrold’s midweek XIs had great showings, with the 2nd XI progressing in the Winston Jeremy Cup, and the 1st XI falling to a narrow defeat to cup favourites JR Rung AllStars 😭

Both Saturday and Sunday 2nd XIs had victory’s by way of concession this weekend, extending both teams winning streaks 🙏

The Saturday 1st XI recorded a 4 wicket victory, put in a match winning performance with the bat, following a solid bowling performance to record 5 wins from 5 💪

The Sunday 1st XI had a tough loss away at Preston . The team fought back valiantly despite an early onslaught, with a top knock from Tom to get us close to chasing an imposing first innings score 🫡

The lads drowned their sorrows with a post game curry, as they plan on taking the summer by storm on the road to quadruple promotion 🫡💪👏

One of our staples of the summer, the competition returns for its 3rd year and promises another amazing day to be a part of Harrold Cricket Club!

What a weekend for Harrold Cricket Club, four games played, four thumping victories recorded 👏

Saturday saw the 1st XI record a huge victory, including a mammoth 146 from Pecks, followed by a first HCC 50 for Mickey. The 2nd had a fantastic first victory of the season away at Eversholt, with match winning knocks of 96* and 53 from Jacob and Raef respectively.

Onto Sunday, where the 1st XI battled hard to overcome Olney, with a classy knock from Dani, a brutal display of hitting from Mo and capped off with a thrill-a-minute display from Charlie. Backed up well by the bowlers to record a 124 run victory and extend the lead at the top of the division. The 2nd XI continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 7 wicket victory against Elstow. Will Smythe in the runs again with an unbeaten 56, with Harrold debutants Brook and Odhran in amongst the wickets.

This Sunday sees the return of President’s Teas as the 1st XI take on Olney 1st XI in an early top of the table clash in Division 2!

THIS WEEK AT HARROLD 🏏

Our midweek 1st XI started the week with a thumping 9 wicket win on Wednesday, bowling Bedford Qalanders out for 41 in the process!

Saturday saw a thumping victory for the 1st XI and a tough defeat for the 2nd XI, albeit with some excellent performances from the cohort of junior players 💪

Both Sunday sides had fantastic victories, including a maiden Harrold hundred for HCC debutant Shaynan Patel. Well batted Shay 👏

Four very strong sides represent HCC this week as the Saturday 1s and Sunday 2s look to continue their unbeaten starts and the Saturday 2s and Sunday 1s hope to build from their very close games last weekend.
