The Song Between Wings and Hooves

The white horse stands beneath the open sky,
his breath touching the quiet earth,
his eyes carrying the memories
of endless rivers and ancient plains.

A little bird lands near him,
singing a song softer than the wind.
The horse whispers,
“Little one, you are blessed with wings.
You can travel beyond mountains,
beyond forests,
beyond the places my hooves have known.”

“I have walked many paths,” he says,
“through storms and golden mornings,
through seasons of silence and change.
But sometimes my heart dreams
of touching the clouds,
of seeing the world
from your place above.”

The little bird tilts its head
and answers with a gentle song:
“White horse, do not forget
the earth also needs your footsteps.
The rivers know your name.
The grass remembers your journey.
The land feels your strength.”

“You carry the spirit of the plains,
the courage of your ancestors,
the wisdom of every trail you have walked.
Not all who fly are free,
and not all who walk the earth
are bound.”

The horse lowers his head softly,
feeling the warmth of the morning sun.
He understands at last:
freedom is not only in the sky,
but also in the heart
that loves the path it was given.

So the little bird flies above,
and the white horse walks below,
two spirits beneath the same sky
one carried by wings,
one carried by the earth,
forever connected by the song of life.

More track preparation today…

Hay feeders relocated with Mudcontrol mats, which have been lifted & relaid more times than I can currently count 🤦🏻‍♀️ they are just fab.

The land I rent has extremely poor grazing & is low lying. I’ve waited to track, so I know where my herd likes to sleep & doze. I also wanted to see what tracks they’d make themselves as they travel to the various hay stations 😃

I’m sure we are all hoping for an easier & drier winter this year 🙏🏻
