It was a big day for our little Karate club.

Huge congratulations to Luca on his 2nd Dan, to Lewis for his senior Shodan and Clare for her Shodan.

Well done also Klest and Amy for getting their brown belts.

Very well done to Sensei Alex of Dunstable karate club on attaining his Sandan!

Nice to see so many students on a record day for gradings.

Good morning everyone.
Unfortunately the knee injury is still painful & restrictive so there is no class today and our summer recess will start from next week.
The village hall is planning to reopen its doors in September, I’m sure this will be subject to events in the wider world.
Sensei Ken & I are looking into ways to operate small group classes in September should we be permitted to.
I will keep you posted on developments.
Meanwhile, I hope you have a great summer and I look forward to returning to a degree of normality soon.

Hello everyone.
Just to let you know we have a new group for lockdown training.
It could be quite some time before we open the doors to our regular dojo so due to popular demand I’ve started a training programme designed to keep your kids or parents out of your hair for a while and your skills in shape and perhaps learn one or two new things.
These will be a combination of training videos and live training sessions, so iron your Gi and limber up for some lockdown karate.

So today our numbers were somewhat lower than we’re accustomed to but our graders did brilliantly!!!
Ben passed his first grade with flying colours & is eying up his sister’s blackbelt already, Emerson’s methodical grading saw her attain her orange belt & Felix overcame his nerves to put in a solid performance and set himself on track for a black belt grading next year.
Well done to all 3 of you, keep up the great effort.

It is with great sadness that I am charged with letting you know that on Friday April 26 Stella Williams passed away.
Sensei Lee’s mum was a great supporter of the karate association founded by her late husband Shian Colin Williams and played an active and passionate role in running it.
She will be sadly missed by everyone at Bukonkai and our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.

Very well done to our 6 students who graded on Sunday and to our new clutch of black belts who had their first Black Belt training session with Chief Instructor Sensei Lee Williams as fully fledged Shodans.
Keep up the good work everyone!
