You don’t even need to put on your dancing shoes, just some socks will do

Full of chocolate eggs but ready to be back in class.

This half term we’re doing a special offer for all who join us for £12 a session instead of the usual £15.
Class is open to everyone aged 17+, regardless of experience, gender, size or any of those other reasons you’ve decided you can’t do ballet.

Join us Wednesdays 6.30-8.15, in Kempston

Our dancers have had a break from pointe but we’re back to it. En pointe en force. And look how strong we’re looking because of it. This is one of our newbies on pointe and doesn’t she look great?

Why did we have a break?
To make sure our bodies were strong enough! Even that six week break, whilst potentially needed mentally, does take some of our strength away so we’ve been working to make sure our whole body can handle balancing just on the ends of those toes. We’ve worked on core strength, leg, ankle and foot strength, and rebuilding that mental strength - especially needed for those dancers transitioning between schools (me included!)

Our pointe/conditioning class is on a Wednesday at 6.30-7.15 and is open to all dancers aged 14+. This includes beginners, those wanting to increase strength and those who want an extra practice session

There’s no class today (1st May) because we’ve got the wonderful Debbie fitting some of our dancers with their very first pointe shoes (exciting!!!).

It’s back to work and I’m reluctantly taking the Christmas decorations down, but it does mean back to ballet - something I’m definitely not sad about!

There’s lots of reflection on the previous year and ambitions for this new one floating around, so I won’t bore you with another one. But I do want to say thank you to those of you who joined me in September 2023 when I decided I just couldn’t live without ballet in my life.
Thank you for jumping straight back in and making the (lovely new!) studio feel like home again. Thank you for being part of our weird ballet family, where we can all be whoever we are and be that person comfortably, all while doing something we love.

I’ve never been very good at the whole business thing (one reason the school closed in 2022) so I’ve not been very good at promoting it, and probably won’t get much better, so here’s my new year advertising push.
If you’d like to join us for relaxed ballet classes for people aged 12+, where you’ll work really hard but in a place with no pressure then please get in touch. We’d all love you to join us

Tonight’s teen dancers-
I’m stuck in really bad traffic. Hopefully I won’t be much longer. There’s bands in the black bag near the barres for a cheeky bit of extra foot strengthening while you’re waiting!

Grown up dancers, I love you, and I just couldn’t come back without a class for you.

Wednesdays, 7.15-8.15pm is the time for you. Not the washing up, or replying to emails, or telling the kids to do their homework for the 10th time that day.

It’s a place where you can spend time with other adults, have a moan, then move your bodies. We’ll do lots of barre work (because it’s my favourite and amazing for strengthening and stretching those bodies), some centre work to get moving and finish with a nice stretch. Basically, you’re going to have the best hour.

The adult class is open to sixth form age and above and is £10 PAYG or £8 if paid in a half term block

** NEW TEEN BALLET CLASS **

Our new teen class is a non-syllabus ballet class especially for dancers aged 12-17 years.
This class is about giving teens a space to breathe, move their bodies and just be. Without the pressures or worries of school, homework and chores. There’ll be no exams, no shows, no pressure, but we’ll be working on ‘real’ ballet and focusing on strength and technique (if we’re going to do it we’re going to do it right!) and we’ll get the opportunity to do things we maybe wouldn’t in a grade class.

This is for all dancers, regardless of ability, previous experience or even if they go to another dance school and just want an extra opportunity to practice the thing they love.

Classes will be Wednesdays 6-6.45pm

Starting the 20th September we’ll be back with our adult ballet class, pointe class and a new teen class
