We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Cayden Greet.
Cayden’s journey with the Eagles began back in 2021, when he was just a young lad on the sideline as an Ouse Valley Eagles ball boy. Even then, he was part of our football family.
In 2022, Cayden took the next step and started playing for the Ouse Valley Eagles Youth team.
When that programme unfortunately came to an end, Cayden continued his football journey with Northampton, spending two years playing U16 and U19 football with the Northants Knights Academy.
Then, in May this year, Cayden turned 18 and came home to the Eagles.
He joined our adult team alongside his dad and his brother, making what should have been the beginning of a very special new chapter for the Greet family and for our club.
It is incredibly difficult to put into words how heartbreaking it is to know that chapter has been cut far too short.
Cayden was more than a player. He was a son, a brother, a teammate, a friend and a young man who had grown up around this football club.
From carrying the footballs on the sideline to eventually putting on the Eagles jersey himself, his journey was one that so many of us were privileged to witness.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Cayden’s family, friends, teammates and everyone at Northants Knights Academy during this unimaginable time.
The football community is a family, and today we stand together for Cayden.
Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. 🦅
From all of us at Ouse Valley Eagles, thank you for being part of our family Bam Bam 💜
