This is really starting to take shape now. We have 100 seats booked for people who are wanting to attend. But we have room for a lot more so let us know if you want to come along!

✅ Debuts Made ✅

Several of our academy players made their county youth debut this past weekend and had some brilliant games!

We couldn’t be prouder to have so many youth players from our academy represent the County, 5 new players got their shirts this weekend and took to the stage 🎯

Results didn’t always go their way but they did it and it’ll only get easier and better from here on out!

Joshua and Summer just missed out by the odd leg but both played brilliantly. Ollie struggled a little on his doubles but first match nerves can account for that and they can’t wait to get back up there to get their first W’s.

Still a newbie to the stage Tom put in a fine performance but just come up a little short and Logan took the Man of the Match with a brilliant 3-1 win. Logan’s really starting to play his A game on the stage now and it’s great to see.

First game of the season and with so many debuts it was always going to be a difficult trip to an experienced M&R team, but it’s the first game of the season and the bears can easily turn it around. 🐻

We can’t wait to see how they all do this season.

🎯 Stepping Up! 🎯

7 of our previous Youth Series players took on the Open Tournament this Tuesday, stepping into a higher standard of darts and testing themselves against some of the best players around.

And they absolutely smashed it! 👏🔥

✅ All 7 won games
🏆 3 made it out of their groups
🎯 2 reached the semi-finals!

An incredible effort from the young lads, and we couldn’t be prouder of the time, commitment and energy they’re putting into their darts.

We’re back with a bang! 🔥

It was fantastic to welcome 5 brand new faces to BDA yesterday, with some brilliant and highly competitive darts throughout the night! 👏

🏆 Unbeaten group winners:
Kai • Archie • Jack • Mitchell

Followed through by George, Ronnie, Joshua & Max.

⭐ Standout performances

Joshua G produced one of his best ever group-stage showings, with some fantastic double hitting! 🎯

Cohen also impressed in his first ever competitive competition, producing two brilliant performances. 👏

Great to see Callum back throwing some lovely darts too — it really feels like it’s only a matter of time before everything clicks! 💪

🔥 QUARTER FINALS

Jack edged past Max in the game of the round, with both players averaging over 57!

Archie, Mitchell & Kai all progressed with impressive 3–0 victories.

🔥 SEMI FINALS

Mitchell reached back-to-back finals, defeating Kai.

Jack then showed fantastic composure against Archie, winning the deciding leg in 21 darts after Archie fought back from 2–0 down! 👏

🏆 THE FINAL

A superb scoring display from Jack, including a first 9 of over 81, saw him defeat Mitchell 3–1 to claim his first BDA tournament victory! 🎉

🏇✨ BDA FAMILY RACE NIGHT – GET INVOLVED! ✨🏇

We now turn our attention to our next academy event!

We had hoped to organise another darts exhibition this year, but unfortunately club and player availability just wouldn’t align. So instead, we’re doing something a little different and having some fun away from the dartboard with a Family Race Night! 🐎🎉

The evening has initially been advertised to academy players, families and friends, and there’s still a few spaces for the local community 🎉

There are plenty of ways to get involved before the first race even begins:

🐎 OWN A HORSE – £3
We have 56 horses available across the evening, and every owner gets to name their horse! 😂
Sensible, funny or completely ridiculous — the choice is yours!

🏁 7 PRE-SOLD RACES
Seven full races with plenty of owners, runners and entertainment throughout the night.

🔥 SPECIAL AUCTION RACE FINALE
Our eighth and final race will be a little different, with each horse auctioned off before the race for what should be a brilliant finale!

🤝 RACE SPONSORS – £10
We’re looking for 8 race sponsors. This is a great opportunity for local businesses, parents or supporters to get their name involved and support the academy.

🏆 SERIES 3 IS ALMOST HERE! 🏆

After two brilliant BDA Tuesday Night Series, the improvement from our young players has been incredible. 🔥

Across Series 1 & 2, 16 regular players competed — and every single one improved in some way.

We’ve seen better scoring, more consistent performances, improved finishing, closer matches and more wins right across the field. 🎯

For Series 3, we’ve made a few changes:

✅ 15 years & under
✅ 16-player limit
✅ £1 weekly entry for academy members

🎯 Freddie Collects Coaches Award 🎯

After being absent for a couple of weeks, Freddie got his hands on his well deserved coaches player of the year award from his coach Josh. He works extremely hard week in week out and topped off his great work with a super 180 recently. Well done young man.

Our players of the week for Wednesday were shared between Mini Rhino, Robert & Elijah, both worked extremely hard and threw fantastic darts all night 🔥

Newcomer Cohen also received a player of the week award for his outstanding efforts on Monday! He’ll be hoping to follow in his brother’s footsteps on the oche! 🎯🔥

🏆 SERIES 3 IS UPON US 🏆

With Series 3 just around the corner, we wanted to take a moment to recognise the fantastic work our academy players have put in across BDA Series 1 and 2.

The improvement we’ve seen from one series to the next has been incredible. A huge well done goes to every player who has taken part so far — the commitment, effort and progress on show has been brilliant.

Across Series 1 and 2, 16 players competed regularly, and every single one of them showed improvement in one way or another.

Our biggest mover was Tom Edwards, who improved by an outstanding 24.9% from Series 1 to Series 2 — adding an amazing 10 points to his average in just 6 months. That’s a fantastic achievement and a great example of what hard work and regular match practice can do.

At the academy, our goal is to help players improve by around 2 points per year, and many of our regular competitors achieved that in just half the time. 🔥

We’ve seen improvements in:

* consistency
* scoring at the start of legs
* finishing
* scoring towards the end of games

What’s been especially pleasing is that it’s not only the top performers making strides. Players who found things tough in Series 1 came back stronger in Series 2, picking up more wins, playing closer matches and posting better averages.

Some of our leading players have now progressed into the open tournaments we run alongside the youth competitions, which opens the door for even more players to compete, develop and enjoy success.

For Series 3, we’ve made a few exciting changes:

✅ Age limit lowered to 15 years and under
✅ Entry fee reduced from £6 to just £1 for academy members (to cover Darts Atlas fees)
✅ Prize fund remains at a superb £400 across the series
✅ Entries reduced from 20 to 16 players to create a smoother evening and an earlier finish on a school night

🐻🎯 WARWICKSHIRE COUNTY YOUTH TRIALS 🎯🐻

A huge week for several of our BDA players, who pushed themselves out of their comfort zones and competed for a place in the Warwickshire Youth Team!

A massive congratulations to:

⭐ Ollie

All five have earned their places for the upcoming season and will now compete in the NYDO Central Division representing Warwickshire! ❤️

Representing your county is a huge honour and something every one of them should be incredibly proud of.

Over the years, we’ve had several BDA players represent the Warwickshire Bear Cubs, and news like this only reinforces the confidence we have in what we’re building at the academy.

These players work hard, practise, compete and constantly push themselves to improve — and we’re just as passionate about helping them develop and seeing how far they can take their game. 🎯

A massive congratulations to everyone who has earned the opportunity to represent their county this coming season.
