A big congratulations to Youngstar Lorcan, who came 2nd in the NI & Ulster Age Group Championships with a 4.09m long jump! This qualifies him for the All Ireland Championships later this month. 😃

Hi Everyone,
Just to let you know, there will be two, 10 week training squads, starting soon for any children wishing to get better at sprints or to work on their endurance/ fitness. Michael, Hannah and Eva will be taking these sessions, as most kids should be familiar with them being the Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday Youngstar coaches. To keep the quality high, I've limited each of the squads to 15 children. The training starts the first week of June and finishes the first week of August. The registration link is on the Youngstars website and i’ll put the link below. Any questions please let me know!

Endurance/ Fitness Squad-
Starts Monday June 5th and will be from 5.30pm - 6.30pm

Sprints Squad-

Lovely sunny evening at Mary Peters for the last firmus energy competition of the year. Thanks for an awesome series of events Lagan Valley AC and good luck to everyone competing! 😃

The u11 Youngstars warming up for the firmus energy athletics competition on Thursday. A big well done to all the u11 & u13 athletes that took part. Hopefully we can see some more great performances at the last competition in September 😁

To support the senior athletes, I’ve created a pot to help aid expenses that will allow them to travel and compete against world class athletes and also attempt to qualify for major competitions. This is something I would love to have every year to help current athletes and aspiring international kids (hopefully some of the current Youngstars will avail of it on the future!). Any support would be appreciated as the money will only be spent to aid the athletes flights & accommodation.

A big well done to Sinead, Matthew & Lorcan who all competed in the Firmus athletics competition yesterday evening. Matthew won his race, Sinead came 3rd in her 100m race and Lorcan picked up an excellent bronze medal in the Long Jump. Proud of you guys and I’m excited to see even more Youngstars competing at other Firmus events throughout the summer.
