Canoe Polo and Kayaking programs for the young and young-at-heart

A great week of paddling to finish off the year of competitions.

Our junior flatwater squad headed up to the Ben Ward weekend hosted by Cobram Barooga Canoe Club. Our junior relay teams were the first across the line out of all racers, taking out 1st and 2nd in the junior relay, an impressive result for teams including U14 paddlers.

On the Sunday the squad took out an incredible 4x🥇, 7x🥈, and 2x🥉in their categories.

An extra bonus was some international success over the weekend too as Jade took out Bronze for the second year in a row at the Kuala Lumpur Invitiational Championships (canoe polo).

A well earned break over the New Year and then back into training in Jan with some flatwater and polo camps scheduled over the 20-24th Jan for both advanced and beginners before school returns.

What a weekend!

The Kuala Lumpur Canoe Invitational Championships was an awesome tour to finish off what was already an epic year of canoe polo which for our club included two continental championships, junior worlds and polo tournaments across three continents.

On Sunday, after three semi final defeats all to Iranian teams, we all bounced back with solid final performances to ensure that everyone came back with a bronze medal across U21, Open Women and Open Men.

It was an amazing tournament hosted by and was a great opportunity to establish relationships across Asia. We look forward to many more tours and hosting travelling teams and clubs in the future.

We are on the lookout for some keen individuals to get more involved with the club as we look to expand our programs in 2024. We are seeking anyone interested in supporting the club in a strategic or operational role to help support our existing and new club programs and steer the club into the future.

There are plenty of different roles available with many requiring a commitment of less than one hour per week. If you think that you might be interested in coming on board, please send an email to [email protected] for more information.

An awesome tournament all round. We had no illusions about where we were going to end up on the table, but we set ourselves plenty of goals in our games besides the score line. Our players improved immensely over the tournament and they all now know just how hard they need to train to play against the world’s best. A huge thank you to Pete and the team at for putting on an amazing event and supporting us in attending, we can’t wait to be back again in two years, with even more teams!

Both teams will play second games a few hours later, based on final pool positions. We will post the time once their placings are confirmed, or just keep an eye on the page for the streams.
