GREEN, James (Jimmy) – Died 20th June 2026, peacefully at hospital, late of Carryduff.

Dearly loved husband of the late Jackie, much loved dad of Nicola and Ian, loving father-in-law of John and Clare, devoted granda of Matthew, Ben and Ethan and a dear brother of George, Barbara and Margaret and their families.

Service of Thanksgiving will be held in Holy Trinity Parish Church, Ballylesson on Saturday 27th June 2026 at 12, noon, followed by interment in the adjoining Churchyard.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to REVIVE (ICU) c/o Norman McBriar & Son Funeral Directors 37 Saintfield Mill, Saintfield, BT24 7FH.

Lovingly remembered by his family, family circle and his many friends from Church and Bowling Club.

We were deeply saddened today to hear that one of our long-time members and Past President, Jimmy Green, died yesterday.

To say he will be missed is an understatement.

Jimmy was a lovely gentleman and greeted everyone with a smile on his face. Whether you were a bowler or, indeed, part of the weekly Ceroc dancers, Jimmy was always had a kind word for you.

He loved to dance himself and one memory many of our members have mentioned today is of him twirling around the dance floor at our 125th Anniversary Party.

Jimmy will be much missed by his friends at Shaftesbury Bowling Club and the wider bowling community.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
