After a little rain and some exciting lightning in the far distance, they lucked out with some clear skies and even a couple of cracking shooting stars.

Last DofE Exped for this season.
Another hot weekend but the kids did great, even with an afternoon of poor visibility and some rain.
Great to see the improvements made from practice to qualifying.

Out today for Mike Smith Mountaineering with a great group tackling the 7 7’s. Brilliant effort from them all.

Becca joined us during the expedition, for what was to be a birthday bivi. But with the wind not playing ball we settled on a birthday camp instead 🤣

Some careful manoeuvring took place to ensure I didn’t set us both and the tent on fire!

Couldn’t really call these past few days working!

Even with couple of days filled with trying weather all our groups from performed brilliantly. They made the teams life easy and even with a couple of navigation errors in the worst of the murk, they kept their heads, followed their training and it was all quickly resolved.
Thanks to all the participants and the team , Tim, Caris, John and Alwynne.
Hopefully the next set of expeditions goes as smoothly 😊

DofE practice with

For a change we got some great weather, shame about the fires!
Glad to have a great team onboard, making everything feel easy. and great bunch of kids helps too.

Now let’s hope we can get a bit more of the same weather, but minus the fires for our next set of expeds.

New tent day.. refreshing and replacing some of my DofE tents and decided to give a whirl.

Some great features for groups and the store room. If a little different to pitch than a ‘normal’ tent.

Looking forward to our first set of expeditions and seeing how they work out.

What a day!! We had out for another DofE training day. The Mournes looked like the place to be.

Been a busy week with routesetting, attending the climbing coaching conference organised by and getting to put my new hat, knit with love by .m.murray, through its paces while helping her recreate a childhood memory.

Into the murk… DofE training today for in the Mournes. Predictably the weather was pants 🤣 but everyone got lots of personal admin practice.

Great day in the Mournes with Laura. Was pretty wild over Binnian, with some proper white outs.
