Ballet classes taught in St Teresa's Youth Centre BT11, St Joseph’s Parish Hall Carryduff and St Malachy's church in Alfred Street BT2

Rana moved to Northern Ireland in August 1997. Her son was born in November. She started looking for a job as a ballerina and realised there was little she could do, but teach ballet herself. So she registered with Royal Academy of Dance. She started teaching a few children in West Belfast ballet classes. This is how Rana's School of Ballet started.

Saying goodbye to my wonderful Advanced 1 students today was truly emotional. πŸ’œ

Emma is off to join the Junior Ballet Company ProsArt in France, CΓ ila is heading to Paris to study art and Amelia is going to Edinburgh to study Art. What exciting adventures lie ahead for them all!

Thankfully, I get to keep Tess for another year and she’ll have the pleasure of enduring my Advanced 2 teaching πŸ˜†πŸ‘πŸ‘

These talented young ladies have all passed their Advanced 1 with outstanding marks making me incredibly proud. Their hard work, commitment and determination have been rewarded and they should be very proud of themselves.

A special thank you also goes to our wonderful Ella Fitzpatrick who has helped me teach these students throughout the school year. Ella is currently working towards her Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance-the highest teaching qualification an RAD teacher can achieve πŸ©°πŸŽ‰πŸ™Œ We are all so proud of her.

Watching these young dancers and teachers grow, achieve, and follow their dreams is one if the greatest privileges of my life.

What more could Rana want! My life is full! πŸ™β€οΈπŸ©°

Proud to be part of Best of the West. Ballet may not yet be the first thing people think of when they think of West Belfast, but we are proud to be part of a community where new traditions can grow alongside cherished ones. Also huge congratulations to Best Youth Centre of the West .teresasyc πŸ†πŸŽ‰ communityspirit ProudtobePartOfit

Denise Rogan and I would like to sincerely thank everyone who nominated us and voted for us for The Best of the West Awards and to all our students and families for accommodating the changes to Friday classes so that we could attend this wonderful celebration of West Belfast.

While we didn’t come home with the award, we left feeling incredibly proud simply to be there amongst so many inspiring organisations and businesses that contribute so much to our community.

Ballet has not traditionally been the first dance form that people associate with West Belfast, and it may take time before a ballet school stands alongside more established traditions such as Irish dancing in these awards. However change is the rule of life. And we genuinely feel that change is happening. More and more people are embracing ballet, supporting our students, and recognising the value that dance in all its forms brings to our community.

We are proud to be part of the culture, spirit, and community of West Belfast. Last night reminded us just how special this place is and how fortunate we are to play a small role within it.

Thank you again for your support, encouragement, and belief in what we do. We are excited about what lies ahead. Congratulations to Best Youth Centre for sure Stteresas Youthc πŸ‘πŸ†Andersonstown News High Points Youth Ballet Translink
