Holiday Body to Lifestyle Change

Melissa Capper Reaney joined Fortius with the short term goal of getting into shape for an upcoming holiday.

Based on the before and after photos she absolutely smashed it 👙

Consistently attending our 6am SGPT sessions & gettting involved in other classes around being a busy mum.

These results are first class because so many girls like Melissa have to make serious sacrifices with time and effort around being busy parents & daily struggles. They are not easy! She made in happen!

In her own words training at Fortius has

“Lead to better eating habits, having a better mindset, treating my body better and wanting to get fitter and healthier for me and my kids.

WHAT A STORY!!!!

60lbs fat loss
4 stone and COUNTING.

Still going stronger than ever before!

Christopher Hunter joined Fortius last Feb in our “Valentines Deal”.

From day 1 was focused on changing his lifestyle, body and mind.

Chris has consistently trained around full time work and more importantly a shoulder injury. Turning up when motivation and frustration was kicking in but trusted the process.

Most people give up at the stage! Iv the statistics and experience to show it too!

Is now squatting in excess of 165kg and deadlifting 145kg plus since last testing day! Strong as an ox!

Other outstanding achievements include

💰 Raising £500 in March walking over 100 mile for Mental Health Charity.
- Longest walk 15 miles

🏔️ Joined the Men’s Cavehill Walking Group led by Orin Calder every Wed night.

🏃‍♂️ Joined our Couch to 5K Program and smashing his running. Something he’s been on at me for a while to improve

🏔️ Completed Cuilcagh Mountain Boardwalk & Walked Slieve Binnian

Chris is also fully emerged the Fortius Culture. Supporting all our events, referring new members, tagging us constantly on social media but still enjoys the balance of beers, football weekends and life!

“GIVE THE TRIAL A GO”

I bumped into while doing my own cardio session at a local gym. We got chatting as she trained at the “old fortius”. Long story short she was saying she was struggling to lose weight & working hard for it. “No matter what I’m doing it’s having little effect”. I told her to come try us out. It’s amazing value and what’s the worst that can happen?

She & a friend tried our 28 Day Trial.

Fast forward to now!

The result above is insane and only paints part of the picture.

Tina is embedded in the fortius community. Trains consistently with a group of friends she’s met at the gym. Has given all our classes a go on top of her SGPT. Started the couch to 5k Program & loving it!

We are all so happy for Tina who has worked closely with and the rest of the coaching team to build strength, fitness and strip body fat. The confidence comes with the progress.

2 Years Old Today

Here’s how it goes…

I was a happy teacher and professional athletics coach until my younger sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Long story short, I left all my jobs & with all my £9000 savings Fortius was formed 8 years ago. I didn’t know what I was doing really but knew I could coach.

Just under 3 years in, I realised I didn’t actually have a business, so moved quickly to go all in on a vision I had for Fortius.

I had bought my first commercial unit (after lots of blood, sweat & tears) then Covid hit. Everything stopped. Anything I had left, and I mean anything, was pumped into Fortius.

On 30th April 2021, we officially opened as a SGPT facility post Covid with 46 Trialists trying out our 28 Day Trial.

It’s 30th April 2023, 2 years later.

Every move has been a lesson…
Every penny, member, intern, staff has positively contributed…
On we drive!

Fortius is still a baby!

Today I celebrate its 2nd birthday & will toast everyone that’s been involved since 2015 🥂

MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Congratulations 🎉 to our February & March “Member of the Month” Shirley McLaughlin and Kirth Ferris!

They both achieved fantastic results in our Focus Month, where instrumental during our Testing Week supporting & encouraging the other members whilst hitting personal best performances themselves.

Both are super consistent and have actively recruited and referred new members to Fortius. They are totally “bought in” to our core values and contribute to the Fortius ethos.

Inspiring to others and deserve a massive pat on the back!

When it comes to achieving results, many focus on the physical aspect of training - the exercises, the reps, the sets, and the weights.

While all of these elements are undoubtedly crucial to your progress, there is another crucial factor that is often overlooked:

your environment.

Your environment refers to the external factors that surround you while you train. It includes everything from the gym itself to the people you train with and even your mindset. Here’s the essentials:

Your Gym

The first element of your environment that can impact your results is the gym you choose to train in. The physical space where you work out can have a significant impact on your mindset, motivation, and ultimately your progress. Some factors to consider when choosing a gym include:
* Equipment: The quality and variety of equipment available at your gym can significantly impact your results. Having access to knowledgeable coaches and free weights allows you to target different muscle groups and vary your training to avoid plateaus.
* Cleanliness: A clean and well-maintained gym can help you stay motivated and focused on your workout. A dirty or cluttered gym can be distracting and decrease your overall satisfaction with your training.
* Groups: Depending on your personality, you may prefer training within a group. A group can provide a high-energy environment and help you stay motivated, while a quieter gym may demotivate you.

“I could never see myself lifting weights, I always stuck to the cardio equipment”

☝🏼This is a very common limiting belief we hear newcomers put on themselves.

What me mean by limiting belief is when that little voice in the back of our head tells us things such as:

> I couldn’t do that

> That’s not for me

> I don’t deserve that

Trust us when we say you can do this, you are more than good enough, and you deserve to live your happiest and healthiest life!
