Division B kicked off today with a trio of fixtures all in the 2pm slot. The bats showed no rust as they were back in full swing.

What a day! Start of Season was a great day, good weather (more sun 🌞 would have been great!), even better play. We saw an unprecedented number of MVP candidates and some big upsets that reflected the growth both in number of players and their quality.

After winning out in the group stages the first place showdown between the Cubs & BSC2 did not disappoint going to extra innings. In the end BSC2 emerged the victors at 9-8. 🏆

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped facilitate a great tournament. The real winner as always was our softball community. The leagues kick off in the coming week and if the tournament was anything to go by it should be a belter! Let's go SU 2026 🥳

We’re buzzing to announce that North Down Softball Club is hosting a Women’s Softball Tournament this May — and it’s set to be an unreal day!

Our Women’s Softball Development Sessions have officially wrapped, and we couldn’t be prouder of what this group achieved together. Forty‑five women stepped onto the field with curiosity, courage, and a willingness to learn — and the feedback has been incredible. The sessions became exactly what we hoped for: a supportive, welcoming space where absolute beginners and experienced players could grow side by side.

A huge thank‑you to WBSC and Softball Ulster for funding and backing the programme, and to our brilliant coaching team led by members of the Ireland National Team. Most of all, thank you to every woman who showed up, put in the work, and made this such a vibrant, fun, and empowering community. This success belongs to all of you.

Here’s to what comes next.
