This Sunday we will attempt to 'Race Across the World' 🌍
After the success of our Everest Challenge last year, we wanted to take on another challenge and this year we are hoping to see how far we can get while also raising some vital funds for the Alzheimer's Society as we do it.
This is our chosen charity for the next 2 years, a charity close to our hearts, and we are honoured to raise money to help fund treatment and research for this devasting disease.
Every club member, their family and friends are welcome to join us or you can help us reach our target by donating via our JustGiving

Another successful weekend of racing for our members.
It kicked off with the Co Down 5k in Downpatrick on Friday night.
Niko Shields got the evening off to a great start with a 2nd place finish in the kids 600m race.
His dad Mark, followed this up with a new Pb of 16:52 and Top 20 finish in Race 3 of the 5km.
Gareth Campbell took to the Podium in that race with a fantastic 2nd place finish in a Pb time of 15:43.

New member, Kip Alizadeh ran to a new Pb of 23:25 in Race 4.
In race 2, Junior Áine Dowd in only her second 5k race, ran a Pb of 21:11 and finished as 2nd female!
At the Athletics NI NI & Ulster Senior Track & Field Championships on Saturday, Benjamin Challis continued his success in the walk by picking up 3000m Walk Gold and made history by becoming the youngest ever NI Senior Champion!
Odeta Sidlauskaite went back to her routes and took to the track for the 3000m Steeplechase. She ran a brilliant race for having not trained in the event for quite a while! She picked up Silver in 12:18.88.
After his succes in the Age Groups last weekend, Joby Doyle once again lined up for the 400m. A great run in the heat saw him automatically qualify for the final where he finished 4th in 52.34 - a superb result for his first Senior Championships!
The Flahavens squad had a 1km race at the start of Saturday's Championships, club Junior Seth Milliken ran well to pick up the Bronze medal.
Now to a slightly more exotic location,
Mark Shaw is in the Philippines and took on the Manila Half Marathon.
A race that involves a 3am start and 30° heat & intense humidity - maybe not one for the faint hearted!
Mark finished in 2:07:27, just 12 minutes off his Pb

Today we received the sad news that long standing member and coach Raymond Black has passed away.
Raymond was a much loved member of Willowfield and the athletics community and he will be sorely missed.
I know many of you will have memories of being coached by Raymond or spending many a journey to races across the country with him.
A fine athlete in his youth and university days, Raymond later came back to Willowfield with his sons and was quickly involved in a support and coaching role as the club slowly rebuilt.
He has also worked in the sport outside the club on committees at Athletics NI and with the Belfast Marathon and was to be found behind the scenes supporting and setting up courses at various venues on road or cross country over the seasons.
As for Willowfield, with the responsibility having now moved on, we have very much learnt the hard way and now appreciate the effort and work he put in setting up, taking down and lugging the club gazebo these many years to venues the length and breadth of the country.
On behalf of the members and committee we extend our deepest condolences to his dear wife Sandra, his children, grandchildren and wider family circle.
