Congratulations to Dunmurry Golf Club. Holt Shield Winners 2022. After gaining a 3-2 away victory in the first leg at Belvoir Park Golf Club, Dunmurry secured their first Holt Shield crown since 1984, once again winning by a 3-2 score line. Commiserations to runners up Belvoir on what was a hard fought final, played in a tremendous spirit, highlighting the ethos of the Holt Shield.

Congratulations to Cairndhu Golf Club who have won the 2021 edition of the Holt Shield.
After leading 3.5/1.5 from the home leg they travelled to Bangor Golf Club and won the two matches they required for victory.
Commiserations to Bangor Golf Club on a hard fought final.

The Holt Shield Team Captain’s Day was held today at Scrabo Golf Club. Winner of the George Stuart Memorial Shield was Robert Brown from the host club with a score of 36pts winning on the back 9 from Chairman Ian McNaught. Brett Borkowski was third also on 36pts.
Scrabo President Sam Morrow won the visitor’s prize also with a score of 36pts.
Many thanks to Scrabo Golf Club for hosting this year’s event. Everyone had a great day and the course was in superb condition.

The draw for the last 16 stage of Holt Shield has been made. All ties to be completed on or before Monday 2nd August.
The format remains the same as this year’s group stages with 3 matches at each venue, preferably played on same day.
In the event of a 3-3 result the team named second in the tie hosts the play off hole. The 3rd player at that venue will contest play-off regardless of this individual match result.

URGENT CORONAVIRUS UPDATE CONCERNING THE HOLT SHIELD.
IN LIGHT OF THE CURRENT CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, THE HOLT SHIELD COMMITTEE ARE CONTINUALLY REVIEWING THE ONGOING SITUATION AND ADVISE THAT NO MATCHES SHOULD TAKE PLACE BEFORE THE END OF MARCH. THIS WILL ALLOW TIME TO ASSESS AND MONITOR THE IMPACT THE PANDEMIC IS HAVING AND ALLOW US TO MAKE FURTHER DECISIONS IN A TIMELY MANNER.

For all those patiently waiting for the Holt Shield 2020 group draw, we are just waiting for a few stragglers to pay the entry fee but all 32 clubs have been confirmed. Draw will be released on website and social media this coming week.
