Delighted to have successfully defended my PhD thesis (subject to minor corrections)! Huge thanks to my examiners Tomohiro Gonjo and Chris Bleakley along with Chair Prof Gareth Davison for a thorough viva and enjoyable experience.

My research, Assessing Sprint Swim Performance Using Load–Velocity Profiling aimed to apply scientific rigour with real-world application. It’s been a whirlwind 3 years topped off with 3 of my chapters published and a 4th accepted pending minor revisions.

No better team of supervisors in Dr and Dr Ulster University School of Sport and Exercise Science.

Grateful for all the support along the way but looking forward to a PhD-free Christmas!

PhD Thesis submitted! Bring on the viva!

After 2 years & 9 months, final assessment ✅

Penultimate milestone with completed ahead of submission in 3 months. Lots of work still to do but nice opportunity to reflect on what has been a whirlwind 3 years.

So much support all the way and particularly the coaches that gave up precious lanes for me to profile & big shout out to all the swimmers that have taken part (all 93 of them!). All of this achieved with great supervisors .
