Queen's 5k Race Round the River

The Deep RiverRock Queen's 3K & 5K races are taking place on Wednesday 21st March 2018 at 6:50pm and Participants are asked to be at the start line for 6:40pm.

Race Entries

Online entries will be acknowledged by a return email. Race packs can be collected from the Main Hall in the Queen's PEC from 3pm on race day. Packs

This year all entries will receive a Queen's 5k branded T-shirt. Each participant will receive a bottle of Deep RiverRock after the race. Start and Finish

The 3K starts on the Annadale Embankment near Dunnes Stores car park at 6:50pm.

Please travel to the starting area via the footpaths as the roads may still be open to traffic until close to the race. The 5K race will start from the Annadale Embankment and participants are asked to be at the start line for 7:15pm for the race starting at 7.30pm. Both races will finish at the entrance to the PEC car park. Route

The route is the same as in previous years and has been officially measured by AthleticsNI. The course has been measured along the left hand side of the road, not the footpath; athletes must keep to the road to ensure they complete the full 5000m distance. The start of the race is located along the Annadale Embankment close to the King’s Bridge. Athletes in the 5K must complete 2¾ laps of the course before finishing alongside the entrance to the PEC carpark. The 3K consists of 1 2/3 laps of the course. Each lap is approximately 1.8km long. Parking/Toilets & Changing

The PEC car park will be available free of charge on the night of the race, toilets and changing facilities will also be available in the centre. An additional car park is available at the McClay Library. Further parking is available in the Stranmillis area. The PEC car park will close between 6:30-6:40pm and cars may not enter and exit until after the 5K race has concluded around 8:15pm. Age Range

Prizes

This years event has a £1600 prize fund. Prizes will be presented in the main hall of the PEC from approximately 8.30pm. Refreshments will be available for all athletes, and three £20 vouchers for Gotto’s Sports will be given away as spot prizes. Results

Results will be available on the web site on the day of the race.

Just a wee note to anyone new to road races: Your gun time is your official time and determines your position in the race. Chip time is your actual running time between the start and finish mats 😊
