EDYC Youth Series.

The Strangford Lough Youth Series headed to East Down Yacht Club today for another fantastic day of racing, with thwo races completed in excellent sailing conditions.

Over 30 sailors took to the water, producing some incredibly close racing and showcasing the skills they’ve developed throughout the season. It was great to see growing confidence, smart tactical decisions and plenty of determination across the fleet.

A huge thank you to East Down Yacht Club for hosting today’s event, along with the race team, safety crews, volunteers, coaches Jakub & Abbie, and all of the parents and supporters who continue to make the series such a success.

Congratulations to all of today’s prize winners, and well done to every sailor who took part, you should all be proud of your efforts.

We now look ahead to the next event of the Strangford Lough Youth Series at Quoile Yacht Club on Sunday 9th August. We can’t wait to see you all there!

Another opportunity to get out on the water, sharpen your racing skills, and build confidence alongside sailors from across the Lough.

We’re looking forward to welcoming sailors to Killyleagh Yacht Club for the next leg of the Strangford Lough Youth Series this Sunday.

⛵️ SSC Youth Series – Done & Dusted! ⛵️

A fantastic day of racing at Strangford Sailing Club on Saturday, with 3 races completed in great sailing conditions.

It was brilliant to see over 35 young sailors out on the water, putting their skills to the test and enjoying some competitive racing in Castleward Bay.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, safety crews, coaches Jenna and Isabel, sailors and families who helped make the day such a success.

Well done to everyone who took part—we’re already looking forward to the next event in the Strangford Lough Youth Series!

Following the postponement of the Gores Island event, the Strangford Lough Youth Series is back in action at SSC on Saturday 11th July.

⛵ Stay on for more racing! Sailors are encouraged to remain at SSC after the Youth Series and take part in the Narrows Series, making the most of a full weekend on the water.

We’re delighted to introduce Isabel Nixon, one of our coaches supporting sailors throughout SLYS 2026! ⛵

Sailing from BYC, Isabel is a qualified Dinghy Instructor and Race Coach Level 2 with experience across a range of classes, including ILCAs, keelboats and RS400s.

A keen keelboat sailor, Isabel has recently taken on a new challenge by stepping into the world of yacht racing.

Whether you’re new to racing or looking to develop your skills, Isabel will be on hand to provide guidance, encouragement and support throughout the series.

The Youth Series is a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, improve your sailing, make new friends and enjoy great racing in a fun and competitive environment.

We’re delighted to introduce Jenna Reid, the first of our two coaches who will be supporting sailors throughout the SLYS 2026! ⛵

With experience across a wide range of classes, including ILCAs, Fireflies, keelboats and GP14s, Jenna brings plenty of knowledge, energy and enthusiasm to the series.

Whether you’re new to racing or looking to take your sailing to the next level, Jenna will be on hand to provide advice, encouragement and support every step of the way.
