We offer classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for all levels and we are beginner friendly gym. It is more than just a martial art! What is a Gi? You are never too old!

Head Coach Cole Porter has been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 16 years and has trained all around the world. In 2020 he was awarded his Black Belt from 4th degree Black Belt Nic Gregoriades. Cole has made it his mission to make Brazilian Jiu Jitsu accessible to people of all shapes and sizes. No matter your level of fitness, health or confidence there will be a place for you at one of his cl

asses. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has so many benefits that can help with overall wellbeing. The lifestyle changes it can offer are priceless. Fitness, mental health will improve, the sense of camaraderie and friendships at the academy is amazing. As well as learning a new skill it truly is great for your head, heart and soul.

FAQs

Do I need to be fit to start? Definitely not, you don't need to be running miles and doing endless pushups before you start. Doing classes, and eventually live sparring, or rolling as we call it will definitely make you work up a sweat and get you fit. A Gi is what we wear to train in, our uniform. We can get you sized up and sort you out with one when you arrive. What happens when I turn up? The coach will greet you when you arrive, and fill in some paperwork with you. Before the class you will be introduced to other team members too. It can most likely feel intimidating at the thought of walking into the academy, but you'll be welcomed right away by the team. What do I need to bring with me? A water bottle to sip on as you'll heat up moving around in classes. A pair of flip flops for when you are off the mats to keep your feet clean. Am I too old, can women train? You can go at your own pace when training. Women can definitely train too, we already have some talented female grapplers on our team. How much is it? We have a great beginner offer which is £90 and includes a Gi (uniform) 8 specific beginner lessons, and access to all our regular classes for the 8 weeks. Buying a coffee from your favourite cafe would be more expensive than the price of a class.

After 12 incredible years, the time has come for us to close our doors 😢

This decision wasn’t easy.

What started as a small group of people sharing a love for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu grew into a true community and one built on hard rounds, friendships, growth and countless memories on the mats.

To every student, coach, competitor, parent and supporter who walked through our doors over the years, thank you.

Thank you for representing the team, supporting one another and helping create something special. The lessons, relationships, and spirit of this academy will stay with us long after the final class.
We are deeply proud of what was built together over the past 12 years. From first-day white belts to black belt promotions, tournament victories to everyday training sessions, every moment mattered.

Our final day of training will be Monday 1st June 6.30pm - 8.30pm. Until then, we’d love to see as many of you on the mats as possible so we can celebrate everything this gym has meant to all of us.
