WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOME
LOVELY PEOPLE TO JOIN US!

As Shetland Pony & Friends continues to grow, we’re looking for people who might like to get involved in a few different ways:

🌱 Little Growers Volunteer – help us create and maintain our new growing/allotment area and potentially support children to learn how to grow their own food.

🐴 Animal & Session Support worker – ad-hoc support during our animal and woodland sessions. Animal experience and confidence communicating with children and adults are essential.

🐰 Animal Care Volunteer / Work Experience Placement – perfect for anyone needing a placement for a course, wanting to gain hands-on animal care experience, build their CV, or simply volunteer with animals.

These roles will require references and a DBS processed by
Shetland Pony and Friends.

📍 Welton Waters

Interested? Drop us a message telling us which opportunity you're interested in and we'll send you the full details.

Please share... the perfect person might be someone you know!

Time to introduce ourselves
We are a new to market brand for pony focused merchandise. All products are created by local small businesses so no mass produced merchandise.
Our idea came from our love of all things pony 😍🦄 and support for young riders and pony owners.
Each pony in our brand logo has a history (Jimmy, Chilli, Festive Freddie and Ashton - stories to follow) but for now we are looking for brand ambassadors in the form of ponies who resemble them.
So if you own, ride or know a pony who looks like one of ours pop a picture below with a brief story about them. We will introduce each of our ponies properly over the next weeks as we wait for the go ahead to release our first products 😊
Our brand ambassador's humans will receive a brand new cozy logo beanie and become part of our story as the business develops, so .........
1️⃣Pop your pony picture and story below
2️⃣Like this post so we see your pony picture🏇
3️⃣Follow our page for more stories about our ponies
4️⃣Tag a best buddy and their pony in the comments
☑️Bonus entry : Share this post in your story and tag us
Winners will be announced on our page 🎁🎉
Can not wait to see your special friends and hear their stories 🤩

The ultimate quadrille 🤩

The warm-up can make or break your competition day - and it's one of the things riders tell us they find hardest to get right.

Here are five things worth thinking about:

1️⃣ Starting too late. Give yourself more time than you think you need - especially at a new venue.
2️⃣ Doing too much. Your horse doesn't need to be exhausted before you go in. Save something for the test.
3️⃣ Ignoring the atmosphere. Let your horse look around and settle before you ask for work.
4️⃣ Riding your test in full. Run through movements, not the whole thing - you want it to feel fresh in the arena.
5️⃣ Forgetting to breathe. Sounds obvious. Genuinely easy to forget when you're nervous.

Anything you'd add? Drop it in the comments 🥰
