I couldn’t be more proud of her today!! I caught her for the first time this evening, she was very cautious but was so unbelievably brave. We have been quietly getting to know each other since she arrived and today was such a huge milestone for her and for us as a partnership in the making. She’s had her very first Spring House Farm bowl cut ✂️ so is officially part of the family now and looks so much better for it!!
Its going to be a long road but I couldn’t be more excited about the journey that is ahead of us, she is one very special little lady with the most honest soul. It is a true blessing and privilege to be the one to help her find her way in the world and I will treasure every step that we take together and am so excited to see the riding horse that she grows into ❤️

Savannah has had such a week of it 😞 two vet visits later and one fractured tooth 🦷 removed!
I have no idea how she managed it, but she fractured it in a way that then caused it to stick out into her cheek and left her with a huge ulcer from it all.
Rainbow Equine Hospital were incredible as always and I am very grateful to them for everything that they do for us❤️
I still can’t believe she was absolutely fine in herself and eating no bother at all, despite everything! Thankfully on the second visit with the right tool, it came out very quickly and with 🤞 no complications so far! What a relief that my poor girl isn’t suffering anymore. Savannah was a brilliant patient from start to finish and at only just over a year old, I couldn’t be more proud of her for how grown up she has been despite being in so much pain!

She settling in really well bless her! It always is a relief to see them lay down for the first time, knowing that she feels happy here to relax properly. I’ve not caught her yet as we are just getting to know each other first without me asking anything of her. She’s such a sweetie and follows me round every where I go, I’m very taken with her already ❤️

Memories of Buddy that came up the other day 💙🩵💙🩵
He has been happily retired now for a few years but it fills my heart looking back at him in his prime! I still remember the horse that I rescued like it was yesterday, living in a metal storage container, terrified of human contact, and so much sadness in his eyes and a soul that was so broken like he had just accepted that life was brutal……I knew on that day that we would never part.
Nearly 10 years together and he still carries the scars of his past, but he has been safe and so unconditionally loved for so many years, I’m not sure I could function without him

What a brilliant day yesterday with my girls! It was our very first Trec competition (mine included!) we had so much fun and they both did me so proud! Full posts to come once I have time to look through all the photos and videos but for now here’s Mya and Willow looking fabulous in their matchy’s ❤️

I think it’s safe to say that he’s made himself at home! I can’t wait for him to be out of quarantine and meet his new herd, I’m pretty sure he’s going to fit right in with the boys that I have in mind to be his pals! But as always I keep a close eye on everybody to make sure they are all happy in their herds and shuffle around if they aren’t!

17 years without you, it feels like a lifetime has passed

One day we will meet again and I will tell you of the life that I have lived, those that I have loved and the difference that I made. I just hope I’ve made you proud.

Life is so very precious and so unbelievably fragile, don’t take a single second for granted.

It was most definitely worth the early start to beat the heat and welcome our beautiful new girl to the family!!!!! Everyone Meet….

She is absolutely stunning and of course I was completely in love with her before I had even met her 😍
She’s 4 years old, Shire x cob (which is such a perfect combination in my opinion!) and standing at 14.3hh at the moment so she will make a lovely height and the shire/cob combination means she will be very slow to grow, mature and fill out! So still a few years to go! 💪
What a truly gorgeous girl she is, I’m so excited to get to know her and start working with her when she is ready!
She has been the bravest girl today. We don’t believe she has had much handling so she traveled loose to us to minimise the stress for her. She let me go in the box with her and quietly catch her and walked off the ramp with very wide eyes but she very carefully stepped off the ramp and allowed me to take her headcollar off.
She’s been a bit shell shocked by it all as it’s been such a huge day for her and there’s so much to take in and digest. I went in with her this afternoon and just stood in there asking nothing, she was very wary but then after a few minutes she came over to introduce herself. She is a very inquisitive little mare and I can tell already that she is an absolute sweetheart, I am positive that she is going to thrive in her next chapter!
I wanted to say another massive thank you to Moll and Ben Desirous Horses for trusting me with another one of your wonderful babies! Olive is horse number 6 that I have bought off them and each and every one that I have has been exactly what they were sold to me as, it really is so refreshing to finally find people that truly care about the horses that they sell. Especially after so many years of dealing with the opposite end of the spectrum! But also guys can you please stop buying horses that I just can’t resist 😆 I’m beyond full right now and I think I need to block you until at least next year 😆😆😆😆😆

Anyway…

So here we are….. starting from the very basics and at the very beginning of the most exciting new chapter for her! And as always it feels such a great privilege to be the one entrusted with the task that is ahead of us and most importantly to be entrusted with her heart ❤️

One thing is for sure, she is one to watch!
And I have a very busy autumn and winter ahead 😆🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️
