🚴‍♂️ Thursday Night Gravel Ride! 🌙

Fancy a midweek adventure with a bit of dirt, a few questionable route choices, and the promise of beer at the end?

You’re in luck.

This Thursday, Ros and I are heading out for approximately 23 miles of gravel goodness, mixing up some new trails with a few old favourites. Expect a healthy dose of adventure, the occasional “are we sure this is a trail?”, and hopefully no unplanned swimming.

📍 Start: Trek Store 🕕 Meet: 18:00 — rolling at 18:15 sharp 💡 Lights: Essential. We’re not relying on the moon to guide us home. 🧥 Extra layer: Probably a good shout. The evening chill is free, but frostbite is a pain!

🍻 The grand finale: We’ll finish back at the Trek Store with beers and nibbles. Because every good ride deserves a reward, and apparently 23 miles burns enough calories to justify eating everything in sight.

🍂 Summer is officially disappearing into the rear-view mirror… 🍂

Before we all start mourning the loss of sunshine, shorts and questionable amounts of SPF, let’s focus on the positives of autumn riding.

Yes, the gilets are coming out.
Yes, arm warmers will soon become mandatory fashion accessories.
Yes, waterproofs and rear lights may be making an appearance.

But… SOUP. 🍲
Warm rolls. 🥖
Apple crumble. 🍎
And hot chocolates. ☕️

Suddenly, autumn riding doesn’t sound so bad after all! In fact, we’d argue these are perfectly legitimate reasons to get out on the bike and refuel afterwards. It’s practically science.

This Saturday sees our first Autumnal Social Ride, starting from the Trek Store at 09:30, with wheels rolling at around 10:00.

Led by Sam Smith, it promises to be a great ride, with great company and, hopefully, only a moderate amount of weather-related character building.

So dust off the gilet, dig out the arm warmers, charge those rear lights and come along.
Focus on the positives. Ride for the views. Stay for the crumble. 🍂🚴‍♂️🍎

An Eclipse to Remember
A mighty social group, expertly led by Sam Smith, made its way up to Brill Hill in search of the eclipse.

Armed with beers, prosecco, soft drinks and the sort of optimism normally reserved for organised military operations, the group assembled to witness Mother Nature putting on the ultimate light show.

Getting to the perfect viewing spot was no mean feat. There was a heroic amount of weaving between parked cars, navigating the crowds and, most importantly, locating Bottle-Opener Dan and his trusty cleats — without whom the refreshments may never have been liberated.

And then, just like that, the sun, moon and assorted silhouettes aligned perfectly. A spectacular natural phenomenon unfolded before us, accompanied by good friends, good drinks and the occasional cry of “Can you open this?”

A truly unforgettable moment — shared with brilliant friends, captured in silhouette, and made considerably better by prosecco. 🌒🍾🍺

Well done to everyone who made the journey. Beill Hill may have been packed, but it was absolutely worth it.

🚴‍♀️☀️ Saturday’s ride to The Forge Coffee Stop in Evenley! ☕️🥞

What started as a perfectly sensible coffee stop quickly turned into a flapjack endurance event. Those things were so enormous you started eating one in one timezone and finished it in another. 😂🥞🌍

Huge shout-out to Alexis for helping lead the ride, and a warm welcome to the four new riders who joined us for a gloriously sunny spin. Great company, plenty of laughs, and enough cake to fuel a small country.

Same time next month? We’ll just need to check the flapjack-to-rider ratio first. 😜🚴‍♂️☕️

🚴 August? More Like Awheelgust! 🚴

We're back in the saddle with another fantastic month of rides!

This time the peloton is being expertly led by the newly repaired Sam Smith, who's officially back in action. Meanwhile, Sam Messenger has been firmly instructed to put her feet up while we keep her wrapped in cotton wool and safely away from anything remotely accident-shaped. We're hoping her only spills from now on involve coffee or beer?

Kicking things off is our ever-popular Social Ride on Saturday 08th, followed by a special Eclipse Ride on the 12th, where we'll head up to Brill Hill to catch the celestial show.

Then we've got a brilliant selection of rides hosted by the wonderful Ros, including a Thursday evening gravel adventure and a Friday Women's Only Social Ride. Finally a Sunday session on the Mountain Bikes!!!

This Thursday: The Gravel Ride with Ros 🚴‍♂️

Why choose sides when you can ride the coolest side?

Road bikes are all about shaving grams and comparing sock heights.

Mountain bikes? Brilliant, if your idea of relaxation involves bouncing off rocks.

But gravel... gravel is where the effortlessly cool riders live. Fast enough to leave the roadies wondering where you disappeared to, refined enough to glide past the mountain bikers without looking like you've just survived a downhill crash.

Join Ros this Thursday for a Gravel ride – around 40km of dusty tracks, crunchy gravel lanes, and blissfully quiet country roads. It's the perfect mix of adventure, scenery, and just enough grit to earn bragging rights without needing a full suspension bike.

We'll roll out from the Trek Store and, more importantly, roll back into the Trek Store, where the air conditioning will be cranked up to Arctic levels, ready to reward your heroic efforts.

Come for the ride. Stay for the gravel glory. Leave with significantly more cool points than you arrived with.

Another cracking Saturday Social Ride and Run at Trek! 🚴☀️

This week's social ride rolled out from the Trek Store under the expert guidance of the less injured of the two Sams (Ribs taped up)

The destination? The ever-reliable George & Dragon in Quainton for the all-important coffee and cake stop. With the only female rider in the group, Sam wasn't about to let the lads have it all their own way. Making the most of well-timed slipstreaming (why fight the wind when you can let someone else do it?), she comfortably held the pace, took some strong turns on the front, and proved she was more than capable of keeping the boys honest.

After a well-earned refuel at the George & Dragon, the group headed back towards the Trek Store. The return leg featured the usual ingredients of any good social ride: a couple of punctures, some "creative" communication that may or may not have confused everyone, and somehow the entire group managed to dodge the chaos of the British Grand Prix traffic. A victory in itself!

Meanwhile, while the cyclists were busy debating whose turn it was on the front, Jenny and the Run Club were quietly getting on with yet another successful monthly run.

Coffee was consumed, miles were banked, laughs were had, and nobody got left behind (well... not for long).
Another brilliant Saturday Social ride and run at Trek—same time next month. 🚴☕🏃
