A special day for the squad as Cerys Forrest earns her 50th cap, while Hannah Dunnett and Gemma Bell make their Biggar debuts.

We’re delighted to welcome Gemma Bell to the Ladies squad, as she makes her debut at flanker this weekend!

Gemma joins us from Glasgow Warriors for the first half of our league campaign. Coming from a farming background too, we’re sure she’ll fit right in at Biggar! 🚜🏉

🔥 Joining Luhann in the leadership group are our Vice Captains, Thomas Young and Cameron Gray!

Both are also products of the Biggar youth system and know exactly what it means to pull on the 1st XV jersey.

Cameron is a mobile ho**er who leads from the front, with a real eagerness to push himself and those around him forward. Away from rugby, Cammy is a Contract Manager with H.M. Raitt & Sons and is proudly sponsored this season by HMR Legacy.

Bringing plenty of size and plenty of attitude to the pack is Tam Young. When he’s not on the rugby pitch, you’ll find him grafting away at Overton Farm, the family farm, or in the Farm Shop & Butchery. His go get it attitude makes him a huge part of the squad.

We’re looking forward to seeing this trio lead the boys this season and wishing Tam a speedy recovery from his thumb injury! ⚫🔴

🔥 Introducing our 1st XV Captain - Luhann Kotze!

Luhann joined Biggar RFC in 2015 and has been a strong part of the squad ever since stepping up to senior rugby. After many years in the 1st XV, we’re better for having his experience and leadership in the room, and it’s fitting that he now gets the opportunity to take that into the captaincy role. With South African heritage, our scrum-half is a fierce competitor that will lead by example.

Luhann is proudly sponsored this season by Knowehead Dexter Beef.

We’re looking forward to seeing him lead the team this season! ⚫🔴
