Hi everyone,

I wanted to send a personal message because I'm becoming increasingly concerned about attendance across my classes, and I'd really value your feedback and support.

Since mid-May, I've seen a gradual but significant decline in numbers. Back in May, I had 21 people attending my Friday morning Fitness Pilates class. Since then, attendance has reduced week by week, and yesterday morning there were just 9 people in the room.

It's not just one class either. Across the timetable, classes that were regularly full like GLOW Beatz, are now seeing up to 15 fewer participants than there were only a month ago. Hatha Yoga has gradually dropped from an average of 14 to only 6 this week.

What worries me most is that so many of you seem to have simply disappeared from classes altogether. I completely understand that life gets busy, routines change, holidays come around and priorities shift. However, because I haven't heard from so many of you, I'm left wondering whether you're planning to return or whether I need to start actively marketing all of my classes to bring new people into our community.

In over 15 years of running my community fitness business, I have never witnessed such a dramatic drop in attendance over such a short period of time. Usually, as a small business owner, you learn to be fairly thick-skinned. There are always ups and downs, and I've always managed to stay positive and focused on the bigger picture.

But if I'm being completely honest, this situation is worrying me. It's difficult not to take it personally when you've invested so much time, energy, passion and care into building something that means so much to you. I know there may be many reasons for the decline, and they may have nothing to do with me or the classes themselves, but I can't help feeling concerned.

That's why I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

If you've taken a break from classes, are you planning to return? Is there something preventing you from attending at the moment? Has your schedule changed, or are there changes you'd like to see? If you do have any feedback, I would be incredibly grateful if you could share it with me. Kind, constructive honesty is always welcome, and your thoughts may help me understand what's happening and how I can better support our community moving forward.

For those of you who continue to attend week after week, thank you. Your loyalty, support and commitment mean more than you probably realise. You are the reason I've been able to build this wonderful community over the last 15 years.

If you've been thinking about returning, I'd love to see you back in class soon. Every booking, every attendance and every recommendation to a friend genuinely makes a difference.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for being part of our community.

With gratitude,
Lisa Hillier Fitness.

Hi Members,

I’m looking for 6 volunteers to attend a FREE one-off class!

I’ve been invited to present at a fitness event in Aberdeen this July, and I’m delighted to be teaching my very own creation, Reset & Restore. Before I deliver the session at the event, I’d love the opportunity to practice it with you and gather some feedback.

📍 Gamlingay Eco Hub - Keir Suite
🗓️ Monday 29th June
⏰ 2:15pm – 3:00pm
💰 Free
What to bring: A yoga mat

🍃What is Reset & Restore?🍃

Reset & Restore is a calming, restorative class designed to gently guide you back into your body and the present moment. Blending elements of yoga-inspired movement, mindful stretching, relaxation techniques, meditation, and grounding practices, this session invites you to slow down, soften, and reconnect.

Through gentle movement and breathwork, you'll release tension, calm the nervous system, and cultivate a deeper sense of balance, clarity, and wellbeing.

Suitable for all levels, this class is perfect for anyone looking to step away from the demands of everyday life and enjoy a peaceful, nourishing experience. Expect a warm and supportive atmosphere where you can unwind, reset your energy, and leave feeling grounded, centred, and restored, both physically and mentally.

Please note: This practice session will be filmed for training and promotional purposes in preparation for the fitness event. By booking a place, you are confirming that you are happy to be included in the recording.

If you'd like to attend, simply head over to Gymcatch, find the date, and book your place.

Please note: There are only 6 spaces available, so please only book if you can commit to attending the session.

Thank you for your support, and I look forward to sharing this special class with you.

All the best,
Lisa Hillier Fitness

A Gentle Reminder About Your Health and Safety

As many of you know, my classes are about much more than exercise, they're about supporting your health, wellbeing, confidence and enjoyment of movement. Over the last couple of months, however, there have been two medical emergencies during classes where I have had to stop the session and assist the member involved. Thankfully, both individuals received the help they needed, but it has prompted me to send this important reminder.

Please only attend class if you feel fit and well enough to exercise. Whether it's a dance/fitness class, Fitness Pilates, or Yoga, movement places additional demands on the body, including the heart, lungs, muscles and joints. If you are feeling unwell, recovering from illness or injury, undergoing medical investigations, receiving treatment, or have been advised to modify your activity levels, please let me know. There may be times when it is safer and more beneficial to take a short break from classes or attend one of my gentler, lower-impact sessions until you have fully recovered.

I care deeply about every member who attends my classes, and I take my duty of care very seriously. However, your safety also depends on you being honest about your health and taking personal responsibility for whether you are well enough to participate. If you are experiencing symptoms such as dizziness, unusual fatigue, chest pain, shortness of breath, or anything else that causes concern, please do not attend class until you have sought appropriate advice and feel confident that you can exercise safely.

Thank you for your understanding, honesty and cooperation. By working together, we can continue to keep our classes safe, supportive and enjoyable for everyone.

If any of you have ever wandered what the difference is between Pilates and Fitness Pilates then check out this wonderful graphic.👇

I chose to train in Fitness Pilates nearly 9 years ago as I wanted to offer a strength based class that’s accessible for everyone. Fitness Pilates gave me that opportunity and I love teaching this concept with an absolute passion.

Classes are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning in Gamlingay, Sandy and Biggleswade. Tap here for more info and to book a class with me 👉 https://lisahillierfitness.com/fitness-pilates
