Geoff and the team are incredibly sad to announce the heartbreaking news that Charlie sadly passed away on Monday 27th April.
We are all heartbroken but none more so than Geoff, whose life was changed when Charlie came along!
Thanks to all the incredible donations Geoff received last year, Charlie was able to stay with him for a lot longer than hoped for!

We are sure most of you have met Charlie in store but for those who haven’t, Charlie can be regularly spotted here at BG’s strolling around the shop greeting everyone who comes in. Charlie is a Medical Detection Dog who provides amazing support to his owner Geoff who relies on Charlie everyday to keep him out of hospital!
We are devastated to tell you, none more so than Geoff, that Charlie collapsed earlier this week at work and has since been diagnosed with a tumour in the blood vessels in his heart. If the surgery to remove the tumour is successful his time with us will be limited and he'll need ongoing care to give him the best quality of life possible for however long he is with us.
Charlie is insured however this has already been exhausted between the consultations, scans, biopsies, operations etc that he's already been through, and there has been a lot extra on top of those costs!
We will be keeping everyone updated on his and Geoffs progress in the coming weeks. If you would like to donate to Charlie’s virtual bucket to help cover a small portion of the cost of his ongoing care Geoff and all of us here at BG’s would hugely appreciate it!
