Biggleswade Skatepark is one of the premier free skateparks in the East of England.
In 2020 the park was refurbished by Central Beds Council - it now has a smooth concrete deck, which is an improvement over the previous surface, and a bowl.

There's a petition up to get Lambeth Council to restore Kennington Skatepark - an early example of a concrete bowl skatepark dating from the 70s and sadly now in poor condition.

Sean Goff - who many of you will have bought decks from under his ToddTwist moniker - has been to the recently opened Oxley Skate Park in Watford.

Talking to skaters the new surface seems to be a big improvement over the previous - but comments about the size of the park - it's only a fraction of the size of the previous skateable area (see pic) and there may be safety issues when the park is really busy.
We hope that this isn't 'it' and that options are being kept open for increasing the area - even if just a flat surface.
We'll have to see...

Biggleswade Skate Park is open for 3 stylers to use in time for the summer :)
The Council tell us that an official opening will take place once the current social distancing restrictions make it safe to do so.
In the meantime - Enjoy!
(but remember there's still a virus out there.... so be alert and stay safe)
