🏉 NORTH RUGBY | ROUND ONE REVIEW 🏉

One round down. The tables are starting to take shape… 👀

What a way to open the new Regional 1 season!

🔵 REGIONAL 1 NORTH EAST

It’s incredibly tight at the top.

Alnwick, Northern, Scunthorpe, Scarborough & Sandal all sit on 5 points after opening their campaigns with wins and bonus points.

Just behind them, Blaydon have 3 points, with York on 2.

At the other end, Middlesbrough and Hull have a point apiece, while Ilkley, North Ribblesdale and Driffield are still searching for their first points.

But after just one round, there is plenty of time to turn things around.

🟢 REGIONAL 1 NORTH WEST

And it’s just as competitive in the North West.

Rossendale, Anselmians, Macclesfield, Stockport, Wirral & Vale of Lune have all started with victories and bonus points.

Six teams. Five points.

Rochdale sit just behind on 2 points, while Bowdon, Kendal, Dronfield, Blackburn & Leek are all looking to climb the table after picking up a single point.

And importantly…

Nobody is cut adrift.

🔥 ROUND TWO IS COMING

One weekend has given us two incredibly tight league tables.

Some clubs have started perfectly.

Some are chasing their first win.

And some will already be looking at next weekend as the chance to make a statement.

Who stays at the top?
Who makes the jump?
Who gets their first win?

The Regional 1 season is underway.

And we’re only just getting started.

Round One certainly didn’t disappoint, with plenty of points, big performances and a few results that will already have people sitting up and taking notice.

Wirral made a strong start, while Stockport produced one of the standout performances of the weekend. Vale of Lune edged a close encounter with Rochdale, and Macclesfield showed their attacking strength.

There were also impressive wins for Rossendale and Anselmians, both making their intentions clear from the opening weekend.

Six games. Plenty of talking points. And absolutely nothing settled yet.

The table is already beginning to take shape — but we’ve got a long season ahead.

Round One is in the books.
