In case you missed it, here’s a reminder of this weekends fixtures!

The first team are back in action this weekend at home! Get behind the boys as they take on a tough Distington side who will be making the trip down from Workington.
Unfortunately King Cross Academy are unable to raise a side so that means their season has now finished.
A huge thank you must go to Academy Head Coach, Tom Savage. He has put hours and hours in outside of training ensuring they get a side out 99% of the time, which in this day and age is a good return.
We are already planning for a bigger and better year next year for the academy. The last 3 years have been about establishing and I think the team have done that and more!
Let’s get behind the club as we push on down the business end of the seasons!

Good luck to all teams! ❤️🖤

💙 BENJI HORSFIELD UPDATE 💙
Everyone at the club would like to send their love, support and best wishes to our Academy player Benji Horsfield, who suffered a horrific compound tibia fracture during Saturday’s game against Batley.
The injury came shortly after Benji had opened the scoring to put us 6–0 ahead — a moment that should have been another positive step in what has already been an incredibly difficult couple of years for the 19-year-old.
Having suffered a serious knee injury at the beginning of last season which kept him sidelined for 12 months, Benji had only recently made his return to the field. At the age of 17, he was also recognised for his efforts by being awarded the club’s Young Player of the Year.
To now face another significant setback is incredibly tough, and there is no doubt that Benji has been through more than any young player should have to deal with.
Benji underwent surgery yesterday, but unfortunately the procedure did not go as planned and there have since been complications with the wound. He has now been transferred to Leeds Royal Infirmary, where we hope he can undergo further surgery as soon as possible and doesn’t have to wait much longer with his leg in a cage.
At just 19 years of age, Benji has already shown tremendous resilience, determination and character. We know that same strength will see him through the difficult road ahead.
The club will do everything within its power to support Benji and his family throughout his recovery. He is a hugely valued member of our club, and the entire Albion family will be behind him every step of the way. 💙
A very special mention must also go to one of our most valued volunteers, committee member and Academy physio Caz.
Caz was absolutely outstanding throughout Saturday’s incident, providing exceptional care, knowledge and reassurance in what was an extremely distressing situation. We cannot thank her enough for the professionalism and compassion she showed when Benji needed it most.
Stay strong, Benji. We’re all with you. 💙

Way off the mark today. 3 losses from our last 4 games. We need to be a lot better than what we showed today.
A big re group this week, plenty of soul searching and we go again next Saturday at home to Distington.
Thank you to everyone who made the trip over, the boys are hurting and will come back stronger next week. Stick with us 🤜🏽🤛🏽
Congratulations to Saddleworth they were brilliant today.

⬛️🟥 GAME DAY 🟥⬛️
It’s Albion vs Saddleworth.
It’s Yorkshire vs Lancashire.
It’s the Battle of the Tea Bags!
Some call it Saddleworth, some call it the Wembley of the North!
The pitch is in fine fettle and the boys are raring to go in this first NCRL play off fixture.
Go hard boys and do the club proud!
