THE TEAM THAT MADE THE BEST MOVES THIS SUMMER. Barcelona didn't just add new players — they upgraded the team. New energy. More quality. More options.
And, most importantly, profiles that fit exactly what Hansi Flick wants: **speed, technical ability, football intelligence and an attacking rhythm.** Now, even when changes are needed, FC Barcelona have quality options from the bench capable of bringing something different to the game.
While some of Europe's other top teams mostly kept their core and made fewer changes to their overall level, Barcelona managed to do both: keep the foundation and strengthen it exceptionally well.
The start of the season is already showing what this team is capable of. The question now is whether they can maintain this intensity and momentum until the end.
Because one thing is clear:
THE QUALITY IN THIS SQUAD IS INCREDIBLE! ⚽🙌

ARE THESE JUST EXCUSES FROM THE MANAGER? Mentality isn' t the same for every player. That part is true. But if a manager truly believes in the quality of his squad and believes mentality is the main problem, then his job is also to make the players believe in his ideas. The focus should be on building confidence, creating belief and getting the best out of the group. That is where the manager — and the team’s psychological support — have a major role to play.
What is more concerning is what we see tactically.
De Zerbi is building a midfield triangle around **Sandro Tonali , Rodrigo Bentancur and Conor Gallagher ** — DM/CM players who are primarily defensive-minded and don't naturally provide the creativity, progression or technical quality needed to consistently create through the middle.
Bentancur and Gallagher aren't players who provide a significant difference at the very top level, while Gallagher in particular offers very little offensively for a position that demands a much greater contribution in attack.
So when the manager publicly questions the mentality of his players, the question has to be asked:
**Is mentality really the main problem — or is the team also being limited by the way it is being set up?**
Tactical decisions influence performances. Performances influence results. And results inevitably influence mentality...⚽

I highlighted Ndiaye’s quality and the potential to go a long way. The biggest question was whether it was just a moment — or if he could consistently deliver at the highest level.
Now at Manchester City , we’ll get the answer.
One thing is certain: Ndiaye has earned this move. He stayed focused, kept developing and took the next step.
Hopefully, his best performances are still ahead of him.
Congratulations, Iliman Cheikh Ndiaye 👏⚽

Of all the major leagues, it feels like LALIGA will have everyone’s attention this season. The clash between Real Madrid C.F. and FC Barcelona is one everyone is already waiting for. Both clubs have strengthened significantly, and there won’t be much room for caution — **every point will matter.**
It’s difficult to predict how the season will unfold. Injuries, form, the schedule and unexpected situations can all change the course of a title race. Still, **Barcelona look slightly stronger to me this season.**
Flick’s philosophy and playing system are already well established, while the squad has now been reinforced with exceptional quality. Lewandowski will be missed, but Barcelona have so many attacking options, creativity and variety that they should be able to cover that absence — and perhaps even become an even more dangerous team.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, remain a **less creative side**, but they are physically extremely strong and tactically very dangerous — qualities that should suit Jose Mourinho . I expect a strong defensive structure from which their attacking opportunities will come. They can play quickly, press high and should compete much harder than we have seen from them in some of the previous seasons.
**There is no clear favourite.** But the combination of Barcelona’s quality, Flick’s philosophy and an already established system makes them, for me, **slightly stronger than Real Madrid this season.**
We’ll see... ALL EYES ON LA LIGA 🇪🇸 👀

I’ve already said that Suzuki is ready for a higher level — and he deserves it. A unique goalkeeper with genuine quality and huge potential. This could be one of Aston Villa’s best signings of the transfer window.
Now comes a great opportunity to show his quality on the biggest stage, take the next step and use this move as a springboard towards the very highest level.
Focus. Hard work. Keep developing.
You're on the right path 鈴木彩艶/Zion Suzuki 💪⚽

Branislav Ivanovic didn’t need the gym to dominate physically. Nemanja Matic says Ivanovic barely did any gym work — yet nobody could do anything to him physically.
And Matic believes the same mentality applied to players like Nemanja Vidic
“Duel isn't strength. It’s knowledge. It’s like boxing — a tactical game. It’s not about who is stronger, but who is smarter.”
Maybe physical dominance isn’t built only in the gym.
Sometimes, it’s about mentality, timing, courage — and knowing how to enter a duel.
And of course, natural strength can give you a huge advantage. ⚽💪

Rice has developed into an exceptional all-round midfielder, combining outstanding football intelligence with an ability to control the tempo of the game.
His defensive awareness, positioning and physical presence make him extremely reliable without the ball, while his composure and technical quality allow him to influence the game in possession.
And one of his biggest weapons? His ability to strike the ball from distance. When given space around the edge of the box or freekick, Rice has the technique and power to seriously threaten goal.
From a young midfielder developing his game to one of the most complete players in his position, his progression is a great example of what patience, hard work and continuous development can produce.
A player the next generation can learn from! ⚽🙌

Football has changed. Especially young players are being valued higher than ever, sometimes before they have even reached their full potential. The problem isn’t the money itself. The problem is what comes with it.
A huge transfer fee doesn’t just change a player’s value — it changes how the world looks at him. Suddenly, the public expects him to perform like an established star, even if he is still developing.
One bad game becomes a problem. A difficult season becomes a failure. And the bigger the price tag, the greater the pressure.
At the same time, getting the contract, the lifestyle and the status too early can affect the hunger that got him there in the first place.
So where is the line between rewarding talent and creating expectations that a young player simply isn’t ready to carry?
Are we creating better footballers — or making it harder for young talent to develop naturally?⚽

Chelsea FC paid a huge fee for Morgan Rogers, but from a sporting perspective, I actually like this move. Rogers brings a completely different level of quality. He has the physical profile, technical ability and versatility to make a real difference at the highest level.
At the same time, Chelsea managed to move Nicolas Jackson on for up to £65M.
For me, Nicolas Jackson simply never showed the consistency or overall quality required to be a top-level striker.
So yes, £117M for Morgan Rogers. is a massive investment.
But if Chelsea get a high-level player in Rogers and manage to move on Jackson for £65M, that’s a difference they can live with.
Good business for Chelsea! 👌

When Livakovic was 26, I pointed out that he had matured, raised his level and that it was time for a serious transfer. He eventually joined Fenerbahçe , but his club career has had its ups and downs.
Yet one thing has always stood out — on the biggest international stage, especially at the FIFA World Cup , Livakovic has consistently shown top-level quality.
That makes you wonder how his club career hasn't been even more successful.
Now, at 31, he has reached FC Barcelona . A true crown to his career — and one he deserves.
Becoming the first-choice goalkeeper will be difficult, but he knows that. His job is to work, stay ready and take every chance he gets.
Even as a backup, reaching this level is something he can be proud of. 🧤🔵🔴
