AVOID going straight to doing this exercise if you're a beginner in the gym!

It's a very commonly seen one in the gym and in videos online.

BUT, this is an advanced level variation! It should not be an exercise selected for a beginner...(but yet some PT's do 🧐)

So don't copy or go diving straight into the deep end if you don't have the technique skill, the strength or balance to do so, yet!

Start with the base level of this exercise to develop your strength, stability and technique skill in learning how to do the movement and engage the right muscles...

Then over time you can progress up the levels of the variation difficulty.

7 Years on of PT at

Another year of business success, more improvements and valuable additions to the service, further knowledge and skills obtained...

But most importantly, helping even more people succeed with their goals! Building confidence in the gym and in themselves, developing incredible strength, seeing their body shape change with muscle definition, boosting mental health, feeling so much better in their clothes and how they feel in themselves, getting to a point of enjoying coming to the gym and knowing how to do exercises on their own.

Excited to Announce that I have brought on our own in-house Nutritionist to the ACTin Fitness team!

We all know how important nutrition is to succeeding with performance, getting into amazing shape and in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, so now having a nutrition expert on board will level up our coaching service.

Dylan will be providing all of my clients with high quality nutrition education. Boosting their knowledge and understanding of everything in the realms of nutrition to help them succeed further with their goals and be equipped with these tools for life.

Dylan will be covering all of the nutrition fundamentals, diets and restrictions, managing weekend/social eating, educating around emotional eating, habit building, food environments and plenty more!

Have you found before that your weight loss stalls and you no longer see changes that you want?

Feel like you've hit a plateau and struggle to get the rest of your belly fat down?

It all comes down to energy balance, no longer expending more calories than what you're consuming, especially if you've lost some weight and now weigh less.

But here are some common reasons that can cause that energy imbalance and for your weight loss to stall....

1. Burning less calories in the week from reduced movement/less exercise/reduced exercise intensity

2. Snacking throughout the day whilst working at your desk, the little things add up

3. Poor sleep leading to imbalanced hormones and tiredness, causing you to move less, miss training sessions, reduce how hard you exercise or make poor food choices for energy

4. Oils and condiments that are used in cooking or with meals that can easily be forgotten about and add up calories

5. Overeating healthy foods like nuts as snacks or avocados, although nutritious fats, the calories can end up being a few hundred from these alone.

6. Inaccurately tracking your food - missing things off, skipping weekend tracking, not putting correct portions in, forgetting about snacks and drinks

Have a look at where you might be going wrong with your training, daily activity levels or nutrition and make the necessary changes.
